Same here. I have balance issues in particular, and you have to be on your game wading across rocks in a creek. I loved it back in the day. I'd love to do it again, but I don't see it happening.

Richard take another piece of a plastic trick worm etc… grab a lighter and melt or weld worm piece onto where your craw pincer meets the craw body. This will give you added strength, and keep the craw pincers from tearing off so easy. Rob

This is great information regarding the crawfish. I've always wondered about making the artificial bait look more like the natural bait. I just bought some plastic crawfish. I'm going to have to find some natural crawfish to see what color they are. Thanks for the great information! This is a great fishing channel

Growing up in middle Tennessee, we would wade the river with our ole Zebco 33, 202 or 404. We'd catch us a bucket of minners, crawfish, or heldemites(as called'em) and fish the rocks and logs. Them big rockbass (black perch as we called'em) would latch on and you thought you'd just hung a stump! Me and my brothers would catch a stranger full . We'd clean them and Momma would fry them! Prolly the most fun I've ever had growing up. Fine fine eat'n! Thanks Richard, great memories you've brought back! God Bless!

Funny story...2 weeks ago went with the little boy down to the San Bernard River in Texas. One of only a couple rivers to hit the surf in the gulf of Mexico and not a bay. The Rio Grande is another. Anyways, I bought some Yum brand craws. I did well with the bass, but the claws didn't hold up which was annoying at first. I could only catch 1 or 2 bass and they would be gone. When all the craws had lost them I had the bug on my jig head with no claws. I said heck with it and I kept throwing it because the sun was about to be down. I pitched that bug across the creek and BOOM I had the biggest Crappie I've ever caught, 14 1/4"s. So my grumpyness with bait ended up turning into a WHOO, I'm talking WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Richard, this is out of your wheelhouse. The next level on your channel would be to test your skills radically (accept challenge )outside your comfort zone . To that end , I invite you to Overland Park KS ( metro setting but well managed fisheries close by) to fish with me. I am a retired passionate fisherman who has his freezer full of rainbow trout, catfish, bass, crappie, bluegills and channel and flathead catfish. Northern fishing is different than TN area and metro area fishing in particular, ( I know because I'm formerly county small town) is much different than you might be used to.. but,.I'd be honored to go with you if you ever showed up here. I make and hand tie a craw that isn't rubber/plastic. It's not as detailed but that doesn't matter to the fish,you'll lose it before it gets torn apart. I also make leaches the same way.

That HD tackle is much lower priced than Nikko!!! About time we had a GREAT competitor for Nikko. Maybe they will come down in price a bit. I'm certianly going to try the 3 inch craws. You get 8 of them and that's only a bit over a buck each.
