Diamond Valley Lake
Great day out in the water! Right side of the boat launched proved to be no good so we walked the other side and found quite a few schools of trout. If you aren't catching trout you need to be mobile and find them. I highly recommend purchasing polarized glasses so you are able to see in DVL's clear water to find the trout. They're not far at all.
The weeds/bush in the water proved to be troublesome as i lost a few fish but also caught my limit quite easily. I recommend 2lb or 4lb test is your best bet for fishing here and mini jigs are a must. 1/32oz jighead or lighter.

What time in the morning was it? What time until the hits slow or do they hit consistently through the day?

Best time to fish is Opening - 7:30am 7:30 - 10am will be slower. 10:30-3pm will be very slow 3:30ish to closing will be better

Look on fishead and didn’t see your lure for trout. Mostly all bass related. Can you post a link of what you have? Jerk bait for trout looks fund.

Just contact him and request the jerkbait for trout. He's done quite a few different colorways but you have them done however you want. I just tell him what colors I want and he creates magic! I messaged him via Instagram btw. I hope you enjoy it and tight lines!

Just started fishing for trout at big bear. Going to diamond this week. Would u suggest shore or boat fishing? Also what pound line is ur rod?

I'm not familiar with fishing DVL except when they recently stocked trout. Right now i believe it would be catfish / bass / stripe bass. I doubt they have much trout left. Maybe the big ones that are too big to be eaten and went to deeper water to survive. I was using 2lb test on my jig & 4lb test on my jerkbait. I believe boat fishing would be best

Fishing at local lakes are always packed but I learned to cast well and fish in tight quarters! Most of the people next to me where buddies or family!

@@FishSeeker gotcha. I just wouldn’t cast that close to someone even they are my friends. Just super safety cautious I guess. Plus I like my space so personal bubble lol
