Good luck. At this time of year, with the heat and sun beaming, you should have the most success flipping into the grass lines. I recommend anything texas rigged with prolly a 1/4-3/8oz bullet weight. (senkos, creature baits, etc)

Pro tip. Save money on senkos when tearing on wacky rigs by using a hot knife to splice them back together.

I wanna try and hit up all three of those lakes you just named. Been each of them once and caught prolly 1 fish each outing. This was my first time out to Del Valle and it was still a grind. My friend on the boat got skunked.

It's been tough this year. the rain kinda fucked things up. i saw at least 4 8lbers and 3 5lbers at Contra Loma they weren't going for anything though.

+ttsang91 agreed. My favorite lake is coyote lake and it's been tough. I thought we would have an awesome spring because of the rain but it's actually made fishing worse. When did you go to contra Loma?

I'll need to try coyote lake sometime. I was at contra loma yesterday. I'm gonna try the back ponds of shadow cliffs on Wed in the evening after work.
