Hello..just found your channel. Been fishing 42 of my 51 yrs, like to fish for a lot of different species of fish, just started learning catfish last year & tried a lot of things, chicken liver, hotdogs, dip baits & so on, I WILL give the live blue gill a try next I go out there. I love catfish in all sizes, even the lil cute bullheads lol, there fun to catch in the creek with live minnows and small crayfish, but ol Gene here in his video dun made me miss the giant 3s, flats, channels and blues and I can't wait till March comes around cuz I'ma go catfishin like crazy! This is my favorite video you've done. Love the outro with the storm clouds in the back. I'm surprised the audio was decent enough to here you with all the wind. But I could still hear you just fine.

As always very informative. When you hook the bluegills that way, how long do they stay alive? Do you ever have issue where the hook will turn and hook back into the bluegills body which results in missed hook set? If yes, how do you resolve the issue?

Hooked like this they will stay alive for a couple hours. I haven't had that happen. I think it's because I leave alot of hook exposure when using a crircle hook. Thank you for watching mrsvoy!

Awesome fishing Rich! I wish you show us how you pegged the rubber band onto the bullet weight. It looks hard to get a rubber band that is big enough to hold the weight still on the line and still be able to go through the bullet weight. Also, do you have any problems with the bluegills snagging into rocks and logs when you fish with them on the bottom?

Sometimes I do have a problem with the bluegill snagging into the rocks. A circle hook helps to keep that from happening. I will do this video. I've quite a few request on doing a catfish setup video so I need to make it happen! Thanks for watching Grand Wonder!!

Hey Mr Richard I was wondering what part of Alabama you stay in? My wife and I was traveling to GA a few days ago and I was telling her I said to her I wonder what part Mr Richard stay in. we could be passing threw his town! Is there a reason why you pegged the bullet weight two inches away from the hook instead of pegging it farther away from the hook or pegging it up against the hook? Thanks ahead Rich for answering my question.

I do that because it gives a little extra pressure on the bluegill to ware him down so he stays on the bottom a little better. Thank you for watching Grand Wonder!

na,you can use live bluegill,if you catchem right where your fishin,just like you did. we have crappie there kinda hard to find in the delta were i live,but we dont have flathead or blue where i live.

about all catfish stay in schools throughout the year. I think the same hatchlings stay together in schools for the most part. This is an opinion though.
