Willow Beach is on the Colorado River approximately 5 miles down stream from the Hoover Dam. This area has been known to house Monster Striped Bass in the past. There have been Stripers caught over 60 pounds but those days are probably long gone. It takes a Striper many years to reach 15 pounds so the big ones are really old. We always catch and release the bigger fish with the hopes of eventually catching a Monster one day. If you plan on fishing this area make sure you have the proper equipment because hooking into a 10-15 pound Striper is not that uncommon. Many fisherman don't expect to catch fish that big so there is an occasional gun shot sound from a line bust. I just started fishing for these Monsters so I'm proud of my personal best striper for now. (4.73 pounds) I plan on upgrading gear and breaking my PB in the near future.
