This guy is someone who truly enjoys fishing rather than the idea of fishing. Also is open minded. He released the fish for the pure reason of being able to catch them when they are bigger so that he could enjoy a good fight. I respect that.

So happy to see you back. I've been looking forward to a topwater bluefish video now that they've been here in CT since Memorial Day weekend. May freshwater fishing was very disappointing for me at my usual ponds and small lakes in southwestern CT. It seemed like the big shift in weather from mid April into May was what did it. I was having great days in February and March with bass, yellows, crappie, and pickerel. Then when it changed from a warm winter and beginning of spring to cold, windy weather, the fishing slowed down. That day you were at the city park was probably the same day I got to witness snow for the first time in May. Crazy snow squalls in mid May!
John Durning that’s not true, there is no proof the Northern Snakehead has done ANY damage to any native population for the 15+ years they have been here
The Pa Fish & Boat Commission said that if u catch a Northern Snakehead, u should dispose of them properly and are encouraged not to release it & report it to the commission

Supposedly they just got a bunch of money to clean and fix up FDR. It was a awesome place to catch bass and snakeheads about 15 years ago. You could get to the waters edge from anywhere. They just let it get overgrown and ruined it.
do you see the ratio of snakes to bass in this system? 16-20 years of snakeheads and theres still panfish and bass just the same. If I saw a negative impact id think differently. I killed several chesapeake blue cats this season as I do see the issue with them but these snakes are pretty harmless and their fry actually get consumed by all the fish in this pond.

Nice video, if I caught a snakehead, I would try to release it, but my dad would see it and then keep it for eating. I hate that my dad wants to eat any fish he see, no matter what size or if it is endangered or not. I dont encourage spreading invasive. I would keep it if it is said that they harm the fish in the lake.
Can't believe spools with line keeps are a rarity where you are its standard in UK. Or even better te ones with elasticated bands that let you take line off whilst keeping it on the spool.
