We’re back on the Texoma water with part 2 with John Blasingame in search of rod bending action. We’re fishing between Oklahoma and Texas. Lake Texoma is known around the world as one of the best striper fishing lakes you can find. People come here for hundreds of miles away to catch these fish. They’re strong fighters and they’ll be boiling the surface pushing bait balls up. If you’re like me, you know topwater is adrenaline pumping. These fish eat good, they fight good, they’re beautiful animals and they are full speed aggressive.
John didn’t let us down. Part 2 was a big finish of our striper fishing on Lake Texoma. Another bonus of catching these fish is you get to bring home the succulent, absolutely delicious white and flakey meat. They have enough fat in them to seem almost buttery. I know your mouth is watering. They’re not oily and definitely amazing table fare. Anyway you wanna cook em, they’ll come out perfect. Striped bass is a low fat source of selenium or Omega-3 fatty acids. These big fish have very few bones and they don’t have very many small bones like the traditional bone fish that are difficult for table fare cuz they have too many small bones. These silvery small chrome looking olive green highlighted fish are completely beautiful. A female stripped fish can lay up to 3 million eggs and the female, as typical, is larger than the males.
