Hi Mate, Now that's what i call a Beach. Wish i was there what a perfect day it would be. A few Beers and a Bar-b-Que going would be awesome. That was a Blacktip Shark you caught there. everything you are doing now, I was doing with my father on South Padres back in the mid and late 70's. we had 10' rods, either old Harnells 542's with Penn 4-0's, Squider and Jig Masters. we used finger mullet, cut mullet or anything caught in a cast net or I caught from shore on a bait fish rig. back then 6' black tips we're common, bull reds 48", and a surf full of Jack's in the 1st and 2nd guts. let's not forget the sting Ray's down on big and little shell.

Great videos, glad to some videos about PINS, do you read the surf or do you just stop anywhere and fish? I used to be able to go down all the time, I am from San Antonio. But now i don't have much time, so I go down once a year if I am lucky. I haven't caught anything good in a while.

All I catch with my cast net in the surf is whiting and pompano.......never mullet :(

Good afternoon fishing family, I was at the lower Laguna Madre today and I saw some reds feeding. I started casting with live shrimp on a pooping cork and no hits then switched to gold spoon, rattle trap, purple soft plastic and no hits they were tailing mullet and croaker and tips for next time

Two Poles is a lot to handle with one person but you should always keep the third with a big tsunami topwater to catch ladyfish in the waves you should have your own fan meet-up surf fishing tournament.
