Team Westin veteran Jörgen Larsson had a big dream for many years - catching a perch over 3kg!
He´s been close several times in the past, but so far he had to wait for his big dream to come true... will it happen this time?
Jörgen heads over to the Netherlands to fish together with Luc Coppens in one of the huge waters this area has to offer in search for that one big fish bite!

It can work fine. Try to use a stand-up jig head or a cheburchka.

I remember in the 90s fishing probably the best perch pond in the northeast England full of huge perch we saw one we reckon must have been 10lb.It was huge.

so many fish of a lifetime for most of us. and you catch them all in 1 day :) awesome. In UK all those fish would be called Monster. and few waters produce such fish. In Thames my biggest perch just over 1.5kg though i saw people catch 2.5kg plus. And my missus when i took her pike fishing, first time ever she catch 12kg pike that shocked me to my core. absolute monster, i never caught pike that big myself and i been fishing since i was a boy.

Great fishing guys , I really enjoyed the film. One small thing to note, if you hold your weighing scales by the body like you did while weighing that huge pike you impact the internal mechanism of the scales and you do not get an accurate measurement.

We caught many perch like this in the Wimmera in Western Victoria, Australia back in the 1970's. We call them Redfin here.

Congratulations Jurgen!! You've broken the world record for Yellow Perch ever caught. The current record says it's 4pounds,3 ounces, caught in New Jersey, USA in 1865. Your best is over 6 pounds!!

For the record. Yellowperch and european perch is not the same species. They are ”cousins” with different latin names. Same With Walleye and zander. 😊

It´s usually quite shallow fishing in these Dutch lakes. In this video Jörgen and Luc were mainly fishing between 2m and 5m.

Nice one brilliant fishing. Would the w10 5-23g be ok for crankbaits and jerkbaits(twitch baits). Which rods would you recommend in each range for crankbaits also which rod for jerkbaits ?

The W10 Finesse T&C is a fantastic allround rod. You can use it for most techniques. In the other series you have Finesse Crank and T&C 5-15 and 7-21 gram.
