Just read the information on the box the reel comes in. It tells you how many inches of line is retrieved when the handle makes one complete revolution.
@@ridgetoriveroutdoors thank you for responding. I think your video was awesome. Would you be interested in making a video on making knots and putting line on?
IPT is determined by gear ratio plus spool OD. If you have a 5.4:1 with a 2” spool OD your IPT could be similar to a 6.3:1 with a spool OD of 1” (don’t quote the math, but that is the basic idea of the math) think of it like rolling up a garden hose. The closer to finishing you are the faster the hose comes in. Because the spool OD is bigger so it sucks up more inches per turn even though the gear ratio didn’t change. When you start gear ratio is 1:1 spool OD is 6”-8” IPT is low. When you finish the last 10’ of hose, gear ratio is still 1:1 but spool OD in now 24” so your IPT is much greater.
You didn't explain anything about gear ratio, except that the 1 means 1 revolution. How was the other numbers relevent in determining the IPT or the speed of the reel.
