Keel your rod tip up when throwing that lipless around rocks in spillways or anywhere with cover it will help prevent snags, and when throwing any other moving bait around snags try this it works, and try a Carolina rig around the spillways or Andy deep drop offs in slack water

with spotted bass early in the morning throw a white hollow walking bait honestly you can throw it all day sun or not just try to stay out of current with it

That river water was so smooth and calm. I’m surprised you didn’t catch anything. That’s usually a good time to be fishing the rivers.

I grew up fishing the Ohio River and local creeks. Most of your success is going to be in 10-12 feet of slack water and around obstructions. Rocks, bridges, docks, locks, and logs is what I have always gone with. When fishing those feeder creeks, the new click-bait would actually work best. Hit the shore line and let it fall, bring it back slow with a pause to let it fall again. Try and mimic a crayfish. This is all JMO and what I have had best luck with.

With waters that rise and drop you have to fish constantly to get a good read of attack point on the whim. I have a bad ass creek I fish with a levy. One its money the next struggle bus.

You should line the floor of your boat with truck bed liner it will help with it not being so slippery and will still be easy to clean

Those Chattahoochee river spotted bass sure do fight. But the Shoal bass in the river put them to shame.

I feel like the river is a little easier to fish than a lake tbh, I catch spotted bass almost everytime I go and they're alot of fun to catch to me.
