Fishing Strategy: Tips For Fishing After A Rain

In this video, I share a couple of strategies I use to help target and catch fish after a heavy rain. I break out the whiteboard in order to illustrate the two strategies. The first one is a lake strategy, where I target the areas that feed or dump water into the lake. The second is to target current seams where slower or cleaner water meets the faster dirty water. The video includes examples of us actually catching fish using these methods.

@@EBspeciesfishing How interesting it will be will depend on whether it's something someone has already learned or not. Some folks who already know will probably be like 'duh'. But for those who don't already know, it can be a gamechanger in some situations.

I make my own flies but havent caught bluegills yet will the float and fly increase my chance. The flies i made today look like nymphs

It should have a good chance of working, but it might take some experimentation. When they move shallow in the spring to spawn it should be effective if your flies match the bugs that are in the water. Nymphs might be a little hard for still water under a float. I think tying some flies on a small mini-trout magnet jig would work great under a float, though. It really depends on how they are feeding.
