Nice fish and all but holy hookset, never understand why people set the hook so hard I mostly bass fish and never in my life have I had to set a hook like this lol
Setting the hook hard is all about trying to drive that hook in as much as possible to lessen the chance of a fish shaking loose. It’s organized chaos, while I’m setting it hard I’m also setting the hook with great mechanics. It takes many years to perfect, if your newer to bass fishing you should never set the hook this hard because you’ll just jerk it out of the fish’s mouth. I’ve been bass fishing for over 12 years now, so when I first started out I had a slow but mechanically correct hookset. Overtime I started setting it harder and harder the more comfortable I got with setting the hook. Due to the hookset I’ve developed I nowadays catch 9/10 fish that I set the hook on. It might seem overly hard but once you’ve been doing it for long enough you start to realize once you develop a hard but In control hook set you catch way more fish.
You guys all know how good fishing spots work. If I tell RU-vid, they won't be good fishing spots anymore. I will give you one part of it. If any of you have ever heard of Ohio power, that's where you need to be. Get yourself a Float tube and learn those ponds. There is over 500 out there and I'm not letting go of the great ones, but if you explore out there you'll get on em.
