Filmed earlier in the year, this episode I launched from Ken Fletcher Park pontoon and explored up and down the river stretch. Plenty of structure found and a couple of surprise catches. Enjoy!
Now that really shits me when people walk away leaving a mess for others to clean and they walk past the bins on the way out, thats my grumble out the way. The river looks awesome at that time, so peaceful, great fishing spot and even on the days they're not biting its still a good place to relax and enjoy.
Nice work. I just bought a kayak for fishing. Be nice to go out with someone to make sure things go smoothly. I have a bow mount electric and a stern drive as well.
Nice session. I got a bass last year (around this time) right in the city. That was after the floods though. I was casting into lightpools for jew and threadys, so that bass saved me from a donut session. I’m yet to catch a brissy jack, but i reckon the rockwalls between Ampol and Bulimba Creek would be worth a try, especially where there are over hanging trees.
The river looks so good at around that time, got a few different species there and that decent size jewy was a bit unexpected, so you wouldnt eat anything from that part of the river? That was an enjoyable fishing session🎣👍 People leaving their shit behind pisses me off, its so easy to pick it up and drop it in a bin.
Enjoying the videos mate. Like when you give a quick run down on the ramp/launch site. Ever had any luck at Jindalee on the river at all? I was thinking of having a crack there.
I was water skiing & swimming past Jindalee & got swiped across the chest by a massive shark, then two weeks later someone caught a 14 ft tiger shark under the Centenary bridge.
Aye mate i was just fishing on that jeddy lol i luv it there havent been caught yet tho lol but yeah i caught a solid 51 cm thready on the live prawns i catch there and yes i do clean up after that cause im 13 ao my dad always says that we have to be clean so we dont get called to the council or what not lol
@@farcanalfishing Ah true. I'm a bit further south west so it's about 20 to the park or 30 to the ramp on the other side. That said, I've got one of those big heavy FeelFree kayaks. I doubt i'd have made that corner on the pontoon let alone be able to launch off one! Good stuff mate, keep up the excellent video's.
if you go to the graceville/ oxley creek pontoon/ boatramp you can wheel it right into water aslong as its not low tide. it is blocked off from vexhiles but there is a foot path on the side of the road and if you go down it the ramo is there and its probably a 10-15 minute kayake to the tennyson pontoon. @@farcanalfishing
Great video mate, this area is my local area and its not uncommon to catch baby threadies around the bank up to 50cm (they bite best when its overcast), or some decent flatties up to 60cm, all the way up to fig tree pocket reach. They seem to slow down after september. Also, if you can get there before sunrise, thats when the large schools of big prawns are normally in the shallows/around the banks.
Nice vid mate- cool catches that far down. The rubbish these so called fisherman leave behind is so shit. Norman creek the other day cast net left all through the rocks, crab pots left out on ropes tied to rocks. Any landbased spot usually bag of pilchards and cans. It blows my mind feral Humans
I just don't understand people that catch momster fish decent enough for a good meal then throw em back and catch em again then throw em bloody back agaiinnnnn, it ruins it for thr fishermen that actually want to eat the fish cause there not as stupid as you think they eventually stop going for lures because they know whats comin no wonder i havent caught any fish in the river for years
Well the jew/mulloway wasn’t legal size which is 75cm and I don’t fancy eating bream or bass 🤷🏼♂️…I don’t think the fish are that smart to not eat a lure again especially in the brown snake haha
