Just a keen fisho that's always up for a laugh...Been fishing for many years and finally got myself a GoPro...Seen some wild things out on the water and I think it's time to get some of it on film!
@@mrgreenswelding2853 I have thought about it in the past but then need a battery and a spot to put it. Would rather the hobie 180 drive…eventually may get one 😅
Nice sesh. I’m liking the rapalas as well-the creeper is a squire magnet. Got a couple of solid tailor on the 4inch paddle tail the other night as well-the jew were eluding me though.
Great session mate! I haven’t fished the pylons in ages, looking at that maybe I should. That cod probably wouldn’t have gone back if I’d caught it I have to say. 😂👌
Need to find some bigger models though..can get away with getting a bit closer in the yak 😅…you got some cracker jew couple months ago! I need to find them
@@farcanalfishing I haven’t found any large Jew of late either although, I’ve mostly been focusing on other stuff. I’d say there’d be a few getting around the deep reefs and the end terminals down at the mouth. 👍
hey bro awsome video do you have any advice for fishing under the gateway....Good standing location.....what times are the best....what lures....what i need to look out for. thanks
Thanks mate..current can get very strong through there and at low tide lots of rock bars just under the surface as u can see in the video haha…I haven’t been there in a while now but I usually like the outgoing tide..curly tail plastics work well and a jig head with enough weight for whether u fish the shallows or the deep ledge…it’s a tricky spot with lots of snags though, good luck 👍🏻
Nice work. I just bought a kayak for fishing. Be nice to go out with someone to make sure things go smoothly. I have a bow mount electric and a stern drive as well.
Yeah I love it..mines the 5-8kg light barra spin..still has a short enough butt so easier to use on the yak..it’s hard to find a medium/heavy rod that’s good length and short butt..and was around $100 on special when I got it
One more to the tally! I was fishing that jetty one day and someone with livescope told me they saw threadies there, but that was all the assistance they could give me.
Yeah was a surprise, wish I went across the river earlier though…was stacks of bait around those pylons but had to head in! Live scope is cheating aye haha
I enjoyed your fishing video, thats a neat peaceful spot to relax inbetween bites. Caught a few fish and the small shark is always adds a bit of excitement.
The river looks so good at around that time, got a few different species there and that decent size jewy was a bit unexpected, so you wouldnt eat anything from that part of the river? That was an enjoyable fishing session🎣👍 People leaving their shit behind pisses me off, its so easy to pick it up and drop it in a bin.
Now that really shits me when people walk away leaving a mess for others to clean and they walk past the bins on the way out, thats my grumble out the way. The river looks awesome at that time, so peaceful, great fishing spot and even on the days they're not biting its still a good place to relax and enjoy.
Good to know you can get them there regularly. I take it its miles from any boatramp so you kind of get that spot just for yakkers. Im going to hit up mud is. when i get a break in the wind for a bit.
Yeah it’s nice not having too many boats around out there…there’s been some good schools of Mack’s and Tuna in the bay lately so if ur keen man let me know!
Yeah wasn’t the prettiest launch, slipped off the pedals at the wrong time haha…at the end of the day I wasn’t that upset not having a fish to fillet haha
Nice fish. Shame that it droped off at the end. Last time I went the tuna wouldn't hit any hardbodies or silvers, might have to try some plastics next time.
Yeah would have been nice to take home but by the time I got home and cleaned up I was kinda glad not to be filleting haha…those crush city jerk shads are definitely worth a go 👍🏻
Aye mate i was just fishing on that jeddy lol i luv it there havent been caught yet tho lol but yeah i caught a solid 51 cm thready on the live prawns i catch there and yes i do clean up after that cause im 13 ao my dad always says that we have to be clean so we dont get called to the council or what not lol
They’re just Kmart ones, they went good aye but I’d get some water socks or something next time…I didn’t get blisters but feet were getting sore from the rubbing and sandy grit
i have been to this location probs 5 times land-based and haven't caught anything. May I ask what you are using in relation to lure, rod and line weight? what time should I go on an outgoing tide or an incoming tide? thanks.
I’ve only been there twice in the yak…this video was outgoing towards bottom of the tide…got the jew on 2inch holt prawn on 1/4 I think 3-5kg rod with 10-20lb line..I’d probably go heavier next time as does get deep..bit hard land based due to current and depth as will snag u up quickly
Thats a good sesh ay luv ya work I like an unwaited zman jerk bait 4 or 5 inch with a worm style hook just pinned through the nose when chasing tarpon always hook em in the mouth and rairly get bitten off even on the light gear just food for thought ay always enjoy ya vids keep up the great work 👍
Thanks mate…I’ve caught plenty of tarpon over the years and only been bitten on maybe 2 or 3 times before this session…my sticky drag may be the issue..definitely not as smooth as it used to be haha
@@farcanalfishing it was a surprise indeed ive only got afew other giant hering around one where you were but in the narrow section just as the tide turns ive got some really nice fish in that narrow and one in the gold coast seaway so well done on actually targeting gh not easy ay
That’s the trouble with the Weir, so much bait fish there the big predators are spoilt for choice. Can be a bit hard to make your lures stand out. Great vid 👍
I’ve finally done it ,check out my latest vid haha..the mouth is quite shallow and didn’t see much structure…didn’t see much bait or anything lurking off the drop off either..the wharfs around there are worth a shot though!
Depends if you’re landbased or have access to kayak or boat as to spots but they live in fairly brackish water so upper reaches of most rivers which still has a bit of flow I tend to find them…can be hard to find but usually see them swirling on the surface…my next vid coming out has lots of tarpon action to get you excited 😊
Subscribed just for the channel name 😂 i grew up there and still have property in the area. If you want "BIG" fish, there's a couple of holes on the southside opposite Winfield 👍
Yeah they are pretty similar. I believe yours are more pale and have small spots…ours are more like cubera snapper, they get much bigger like the cubera offshore but don’t think they get as big!
