Fishing With a BEETLE SPIN! Can I catch Bass on a Beetle Spin Spinner?

Today I'll be fishing with a Beetle Spin spinnerbait! Can I catch a bass on this old time favorite? This Beetle Spin was sent to the show by a generous subscriber and I unbox it at the lake. First I try a Googan Baits crankbait without any success. But after switching to the Beetle SPin, I actually start catching fish. I catch a nice Longear Sunfish, a Green Sunfish, and even a few largemouth bass! Make that 4 largemouth bass! The largest fish today comes in around .5 pounds but its a nice catch on the small beetle spin lure. If you have a Johnson Beetle Spin laying around, don't forget to go fishing with it and maybe catch a bass like Realistic Fishing.

Glad to see my lures worked for you Alex! In my neck of the woods the 1/32 oz beetle spin is a go to for large panfish. Next time you want to use a crank bait for bass I encourage you to try the jabber jaw. It has a metal lip that makes noise a bass cannot leave alone. It always puts a smile on my face to see you fish!

The beetle spin always caught big longear sunfish and bluegill when I used it as a kid. Never caught a bass on it though.... that may change soon!

I love micro crankbaits those have been my favorite since i started ultra light fishing so far my favorite are the euro tackle ones i do have one of each of the micro klutch the micro reacon and the micro banger but i have a lot of the euro tackle ones i also have almost all colors and sizes of the beetle spin those are pretty good too

Beetle Spin is my go to search bait. I have caught all kinds of pan fish on it, large mouth bass, peacock bass, and other S Florida invasive fish.

Beetle Spin is the only lure my Dad ever used (he primarily used live bait) and the only one I ever used as a kid. I've caught blue gills/sunfish, perch, crappie, walleye and northern on them. They are a great lure.

As much as in dislike the googans their hard baits so work very well. Not going to pay the price for them but i do like them. I haven't personally used a beetle spin yet, but i need to.

Never caught a bass on one but years ago I caught a 1.5 lb shellcracker by bouncing it off some rocks in a local reserveoir. That thing was BEEFY. Those longear are gorgeous fish. if I had room for an aquarium id put a longear in it.

I like to direct tie it so it doesn't have that extra jingly jangly stuff hanging off the front. But it could also be fished with a snap swivel to avoid possible line twist if your spinner flips over too much.
