LOL, all 3 "Oni's" aligned. First cast, hook up, fight and landing of the rising trout in challenging water. REPEAT SEQUENCE. The three Oni Challenge accomplished, BRAVO Kris!!! Final Act: Cristening Oni's head with Master Oni Sakasa Kebari pinned on fighting trout. OMGeeee!!!! Hee Hee.

The 395 Honryu is truly a great rod. It casts both kebari and nymphs equally well and will handle very large fish. We need to see that Italian net.

Yeah, I almost used it yesterday with my bamboo itoshiro, but there was fresh wet snow and I was afraid I would fall and damage it.

Awesome fishing. Makes me want to try bringing my Portuguese water dog out with me, but I have a feeling his urge to swim will result in spooked fish. I picked up a Honryu 395 from their most recent production run but haven't fished it yet. Planning to take it up to the mountains next month and use it in more open streams than what I typically fish.

Do you feel the Oni 395 is overpowered at all for 10-12” trout? Or are they still fun to fight? Glad you’re back w new videos!

@@tenkaraonthetrail fished a small local pond but ran into afternoon thunderstorms . Fished both 3.5 level line and ESZ pet furled. I preferred the furled when casting small kebari like I did. Rod was comfy and very accurate when casting.
