Damn gee you got those soft shells down. I admire your perseverance. My pops used to take me surf fishing in Monterey Bay when I was eight years old. I didn't catch my first striper until I was 30 years old. You put in that work you going to come up eventually. Love the sweater, I hope I run into you out here in the Monterey Bay. We call them sand fleas over here in Fl. The fish like the ones with roe in them.

Thanks for clarifying the rules on collecting sand crabs. I’ve seen lots of people using nets. Also, I thought you couldn’t use two rods in the ocean off the shore or banks. So many regulations you have to be hip to. Always great content and videos!

I just talked to dfg and they said no nets are allowed to take sand crabs. The 2 rod stamp does not apply to the ocean but it is restricted inside the golden gate but not the piers.

I understand you can use as many rods as you want out on the California beach. Two rod rule with 2nd stamp only apply to fresh water fishing.

I misspoke when I was talking about the fork of the tail. I was saying it's 11" at the fork so I know it's legal but so far as measuring perch it's to the tip of the tail pinched.

Things you can use to get sand crabs. * spade * shovels * hoes * forks * rakes * devices that use suction commonly known as slurp guns or clam guns * rigid pipes used to prevent the collapse of holes when digging for sand crabs or shrimp Kinda sucks but 🤷‍♂

B Flossy; Some fishers are catching many stripers; I'm not even beaching a perch!! CA F&G need to have day limits on NUMBERS of sand crabs!! DON'T also limit METHODS for one day surf fishers because of whoever else gathers hundreds or thousands of sand crabs for WHAT? Good to see you back!
