Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge vs Roland Street Cube Ex - Busking 

As an owner of them both here you go. The cube is more efficient in crowded situations because of its more overall sheer power and the fishman is for non crowded situations, because of its one speaker as it can't perform well on high volume settings unfortunately 😔. If you want what the fishman has to offer in terms of sound quality but on higher volume, then the Aer compact mobile 2 is one way street, but it will also cost you 1700 dollars on thomann or pretty much anywhere you go. Now as a busker myself I must say that I love both the cube and the Fishman, but it depends where you are performing at and under what types of conditions. Always keep that in mind because when it comes to Fishman no matter how great its sound quality and the overall product might be, unfortunately isn't the GREAT CUBE EX and that comes along with its downsides like the ones I mentioned above. In a few words, if you're a busker who goes anywhere to pursuit more opportunities than the ones you have where you live, then the CUBE is the way to go, as it will never let you down no matter how bad the weather is, no matter where you are, no matter how many people are around you growling like dinosaurs, no matter even if there are freaking grinder machines tearing apart the road in front of you, and trust me that is priceless. So the clear winner here for buskers is the cube since no regular busker can afford the frigging Aer, and if you want to know regular buskers can't afford none of those three, so keep that in your mind as well and start supporting independent artists because we're all flirting with extinction nodays. I hope I could help a bit with my statement here.

I just changed my battery with some similar around $30 from amazon. Just 20mins working for another 1-2 years using. I think it quite worth the work. Thank you for this nice review that covered different guitars and vocal. It will definitely help a lot of people.

I’ve had the cube for quite a few years now and it’s been terrific and a very useful tool. The Fishman sounded really good with acoustics though

Thanks for the review. I'm going to start busking at a local farmer's market soon and needed a good idea of what to choose between the two amps. I ordered the Loudbox from Musician's Friend mid October and still haven't gotten it, gave em a call and they said it's on backorder until November 17 (was supposed to be last week). I'm a bit miffed and was considering canceling my order to get a Street Cube instead, but with the noise comparison, I think I'll take my chances and continue waiting. Thanks man!

Good review. I have a Fishman loudbox mini for acoustic play--love the sound. I'd say the Roland offers more flexibility to cover acoustic and electric, ruggedness, and battery convenience. But the Fishman has a cleaner, more accurate sound for acoustics. As you said, it really depends on what you intend to do.

Thanks for the review. I think you may have had the fishman volume up a bit louder than the cube , at least it sounded that way to me. But even so, the fishman acoustic guitar sound was a little brighter, and cleaner, than the cube. Noticeable, but not by mind blowing. I own a fishman non battery mini and love it at home but I will buy a cube for busking because it has AA batteries vs car type lead acid battery, its lighter weight and its other builtin features which the fishman does not have. Also the knobs are inward facing so are easier to see how they are set and adjust. oh and did I mention price? lol. Cube street 2 is much more affordable.

The guitar sound I had found other videos and I was already convinced it is exactly what I'm looking for, so finally this video showed me the warmth is also present on the vocals, it sounds natural, awesome! Thanks for the demo. The Fishman sounds quite a bit better- more clarity, high end and range in general, to my ears.

I went with the Roland Street Cube EX and love it. Busk & play Acoustic / electric Martin a local bars/small/medium gigs and the Ex works for me. Batteries last approx 20 hrs. (I carry extra just in case when there's no outlet to plug into) Light weight means a lot to me also. Thanks again for the review !

I would say the Fishman edges the Cube on sound quality, but it does not have the same versatility. It's also more expensive(from my recollection). For that reason, the Cube wins for me - nice review! Edit: Subscribed btw

Pretty cool and unique singing, Alekz, thank you. I‘d never call it crap. And you shouldn’t do either. (Btw: A replacement battery for the Fishman isn’t more than about 15 €/$. You can take every 12v/5Ah lead battery, they share the same size and will fit into that holding cage…)

I wondered what you thought about going through the COSM Acoustic Guitar setting on the Street Cube on input 2 vs going into input 1 set to instrument? It seems to me like the COSM model takes some of the attack off the lower strings and boosts the mid bass, probably to cut down on the quacking of piezo pickups. I like the sound of input 1 for fingerstyle but I think input 2 on acoustic sounds better when strumming

I'm a busker from Dublin and I use a semi-acoustic Takamine and the Roland street cube and I find it an excellent amp and the fact that you literally just have to pop the batteries in and your good to go is a big plus for me because you don't have to worry about the amp dying as you can just pop some more batteries in and your ready to go. The Mic I use could be better but it's a decent enough one for busking , it's a Prodipe M-85 lanen and it's a good mic but I'm thinking of changing my mic to a more expensive Shure mic...Any suggestions ?? 🤔

Or sounds like Fishman has more reverb in the setting. Even if both are set to mid position, different products have different levels at mid.

can u do a comparrasin between the loud box n the joyo bsk80 or 60 plz. ty for this. ive heard the loud box n ive sang thru it n it made my voice change into a rock star. its definately a vocal amp

I've owned both. Roland more versatile but the LoudBox is much better if you're just doing acoustic stuff. (IMHO) You play great and your vocals where solid! Good job.

Well I have a Loud Box Artist. But I like the acoustic sound. But I also like the electric sound. So I did ordered the Cube. I hope I made the right choice.

Cheers. I like the ' excuse the crap singing '... I think for volume the Roland wins out, but for Acoustic sound quality, Fishman all day. I guess it depends what you will use them for, your budget and what you like the look of.

I like the mini Fishman but they got cheap with the battery. It is lead acid, not lithium. They don't last as long. Replacing should be very easy though if you are handy- fortunately I am. Your playing and singing was very nice.

Loudbox does sound nicer for acoustic guitars.

Roland Cube EX is lighter for me.

first of all i love the honesty bro!!!! your the man!!! ive played with the roland and it will blow the fuck out your ears and you always hear the hiss. that thing is crap compared to the fishman. only thing the roland has is the weight difference its lighter but who cares. Im not backpacking with it. lol great vid. ill be getting the charge for sure
