I push mow my half acre property every week. Takes about 3 and a half hours. Wouldnt want a riding mower because honestly, the workout is good. I do believe i average 5-7 miles for the whole property.
@Jose Martinez Na man, a body in motion stays in motion. If she still has the ability to do it, you're actually doing her a disfavor by taking routine and exercise away from her.
So does that mean you were the tv remote as well.? And if you fell asleep did that mean your mom smack you to make it work again… I’m sorry if this offended you as I wasn’t trying to. Just making a reference about the human body being the tool and not the machine…
In fact, it does otherwise you might chip pieces of the blade and dull it. I ended up using a dull mower the whole time and i thought it was just me not being strong enough.
I was mechanic at golf course and we use reel mowers on greens like this, except they are gas powered, and belt driven reel. The reel is adjusted to like 1/1000th of a inch to the bedknife when done correctly, can be really finicky
I just bought one of these. Works great. I guess that's why I'm starting to see these videos now. My phone must have seen me mowing my lawn and started recommending this video.
I do love the cut of a good reel mower, but man my ash trees drop so many sticks I gotta rake up its a pain. If I don't it's getting jammed up every foot or so lol. Glad I don't have a huge yard but I like mowing the back where there's less sticks.
I dont care what anyone says, thats the best way to do a small yard. Never needs anything but minor maintenance, no gas, no winterizing, no batteries to replace. Just man power 💪
I miss those old lawn cutters I was always havin fun when i was a lil kid cuttin yards with our old red craftsmen til the rubber came off completely on the wheel lol
I had one of these growing up. I used to hate it cus i thought the blades were dull. But i barely touched it one time and it sliced my finger up. Theyre just so hard to push
I used a petrol mower push along to cut out lawns as a kid. 2.5 hours the lot, only just realised how it helped me in Rugby! Thought I was just naturally stronger!
This brings back dark memories.. we had a perfectly good running lawn mower in the garage but my dad said these build character.. yeah he was in the military😂
Good to see im not the only one doing this 🙏😃 i find i get the best results if i use a metal leaf rake and comb out the clippings in the opposite direction i mowed from pulls out the clippings, and stands up any tall pieces for the final pass. Its extra work but the results are great👍👍
I used one like that to mow when i was a kid. But alot older that this newbee. Somehow i had gotten broken so we had to get a gas mower. Hmmm. Loved that gas mower. I mowed over an acre of lawn each week with that old sucker. Gas is good
I used to mow my old lawn with one of these. It was about as hard to push as a normal push mower because it was light. no gas and no noise. It was almost impossible to sharpen though and it would cut uneven if you screwed up and if you hit a tiny twig it would stop you dead lol
They still make these type of push lawnmowers i haven't seen one since i was a kid i thought they been stop making them along time ago man its good they still make them 😮😮
I grew up using one of these reel type mowers. After I enlisted in the military and left for Boot Camp, my pop buys a riding mower for my younger brother to use. Man what a poke in the eye that was.😂
I used to have one of these when I lived with my grandparents, was so much fun to use, and honestly so much better. Prefer one of these over a conventional petrol mower 😂👌
I got grounded once and my dad went to Western Auto and bought me one of these to use for the summer. Oh we HAD a self propelled TORO but I got this torture device. I basically had to mow all day long for a month.
Shoot this takes me back! I remember my cousin's a friend and me were kids we just graduated to the 8th grade we got a 18 pack of Coors a little bottle of tequila and a OZ of some dirt bud.. we were at are grandparents home are uncle is a few yrs older then us this was the early 90s and where we grew up if you had a friend or knew someone at the liquor store you could buy alcohol. Anyways we got faded are grandpa walked out to the garage cought us and the next morning he woke us up at 6am and made us mow the lawn with 4 of those push mowers.. we were sick throwing up it was a bad day.
