Final nba draft top rankings for Hornet desires 1. Alexander Sarr- Unlimited Potential 2. Zaccharie Risacher- Unlimited Potential 3. Ron Holland- Aggressive w/ Ball & switch defender 4. Donovan Clingan- Classic center that can shoot potential 5. Tidjane Salaun- Unlimited Potential 6. Reed Sheppard- great 6th man option 7. Matas Buzelis- long wing off ball 3-d threat 8. Stephon Castle- versatile pg backup with high defensive potential 9. Zach Edey- hidden gem I think he can shoot was just never asked but walks in with nba size and strength 10. Cody Williams- hidden gem similar to Buzelis just a bit smaller in height but a bit quicker so they kinda balance 11. Bronny James- brings Lebron James to the hornets

@@PlugcircleHolland has the same height but 20 pounds heavier. Projects as a defensive stopper on the perimeter. Cody was my guy for a lot of the season though; I believe in his shot. Wouldn't be mad at it

Just watching game 2 Minnesota and Dallas and discovered Reed Sheppard and Kyrie Irving are the same height. Gives me a new perspective on Sheppard.

Reed Shepard is a fit. His shooting is a plus but he really thrives on defensive plays due to his size. We need to start thinking in the mindset of the coaching staff we have coming in. Charles lee, Skeeter would turn Reed into a Payton Prichard 2.0 with better all around defense and vertical. If he falls to 6 we’re getting a great 6th man or plug n play starter for 5 years

I honestly think if we pass on Edy it would be a mistake their is nobody in this draft who is a better prospect in my mind.. College player of the year at the very least he would help us in the rebounding department and he is a good back up if mark Williams back keeps acting up. Castle is trash he isn't worthy of a 1st rd pick much less the number 6 pick it would be mental draft him that high in my opinion

If Buzelis was about 210 -220 LBS at least I'd take him, he doesn't have the strength. I like Reed Sheppard even if he was to be a great 6th man. Sheppard's 3 point shooting, vertical and defense is too good to pass on. If Reed can be a Jamal Murray that would be awesome. I do also like Dalton Knecht although I think he'd be drafted with the Spurs with the 8th pick, I wouldn't be mad though with selecting Knecht, because Knecht I do feel is ready.

I’m really not high on UCONN players either. Many appear to be system players that become marginal or busts at the pro level IMO. To me, Dalton Knecht makes the most sense due to his NBA ready offensive skills and size. Not the most athletic and defensively needs work but not for lack of effort, as he transferred to UT to improve his defensive performance under Rick Barnes. Having him will allow us to play B Miller at his natural position @ the 3 while developing DK @ the 2 guard which is his natural fit. We also maintain offense on the floor for those likely occasions when Melo is on the bench for stretches due to injuries or rest. Good rotational piece can handle the ball also.

It’s definitely not his strong suit but transferring to UT to play under defensive minded Rick Barnes shows he’s at least aware of this weakness and is willing to work on it. And UT was good defensively though not great. If he’s LaMelo level bad on D then I’d say pass.

@@papajohn7413 You can make the point that our offense was putrid last year as well. Think about how many games we lost by 15+. If we were losing close games by single digits then bringing in a defensive stopper makes sense. We need more offense first, look at how the magic was able to rebuild. Majority of teams dont plays solid defense night in/night out in NBA regular season. It's about finding/exploiting mismatches and making shots.

@@weliveinasimulation. go look at all those games we lost by 15+ and you’ll notice the other team scores damn near every possession which is why come 4th quarter we’re playing against their backups because we can’t stop teams from scoring. Drafting someone you know is gonna be a defensive liability when you desperately need a ball stopper is not smart at all. It all comes down to health at the end of the day tho but putting it aside we already have three 20+ ppg scorers on top of mark who could easily be one as well playing along side lamelo.

I was going to say Stephon is 6'2 but that was the fake news lol. Castle I like a lot. Ron Holland is the same height as Cody Williams, 20 pounds heavier and averages 20 a game on a horrible team with a WIP jumper. Only other guy I'm promoting is Knecht, he has a role immediately wherever he goes.

When I watch the G'league games Holland played in, I see a really athletic "prototypical" wing with loads of the dreaded "P" word (potential) but is very dreaded "R" word (raw)... As far as his game he really seemed to make "WTF" decisions on a regular basis, wasn't all that great defensively and struggled shooting from the perimeter, which all add up to a huge red flag for me. He's extremely young so you truly never know how things will end up but more often than not, players that struggle shooting, defending and don't have a great natural feel for the game don't justify being picked in the top 5ish range.

@@brentbe appreciate the response, brother. I agree with you to a point, but I think the issues he had were exacerbated by a lack of point guards or playmaking on the G league Ignite. Given the failure of the team, I will excuse a lot of what happened as forcing it as an 18 year old. I feel like he is the guy you catch as he's falling. Collier and Cody Williams also strike me as guys who need a few years but will be huge for whoever picks them up and aren't going in the draft as high as their ceilings would normally dictate. I can't understand how Jalen Green for example goes 2nd but Holland, who put up arguably better numbers on a worse team, falls out of the top 8... And it's a weak draft!
