@@TheJrj430 They all follow the TRADOC rules on camera because everyone’s gonna see it. The moment the camera goes off, they go back to absolutely ruining you. It’s like the video of the police officer saying he’ll turn off his body camera so he can have a fist fight with someone.
Still In 14 years later FT Knox is where I went, my home away from home. Love that place and all the memories made. I had the best drill sergeants ever! F Co 2-46
Did this straight out of 120th in Fort Jackson. Didn't really know my plt or company at the time I went through this. After this was completed we marched to the company area. That's where I learned my company, Battalion, and plt
Be sure that you are at a healthy bodyweight before you ship out. If anyone is very fat or very weak, they'll get sent to fat body platoon, which does not count toward recruit training. You'll end up falling behind your original training platoon & you'll have to wait for another training platoon to pick you up AFTER you spend time in fat body platoon.
You ain't kiddin! This looks like a field day comparatively. I remember (1986) going under barbed wire - full gear, weapon and all - constantly being screamed at, not "encouraged", to make it through.
It is, if you discount the homesickness, being tired all the time, exhaustion, stupid ass recruits that get your platoon smoked, fire guard, shitty food, fellow recruits stealing your pt gear from the laundry room, needing to use the latrine but all stalls are full, most of the time just standing around doing nothing, getting a cold because some dumbass came sick, athletes foot, then yeah it’s fun. It’s like an intense high school gym class with guns, it’s all the other BS that makes it suck. What makes it suck the most, for most people, is you can’t just say “screw it, I’m done”. There is only one way out, graduation. Unless you refuse to train, which they will keep you for months anyways. If you want a life where you can quit every other job you have because it gets hard, stick to the fast food business. Edit: actually the fastest way out is an EPTS medical discharge, but good luck getting back in if you regret that decision. Had a guy just tell his DS he wasn’t cut out for the army, he wanted to go home. So DS did the paperwork, he was there until after we graduated, doing detail and not earning the soldier title. Another guy brought up a past injury requiring surgery that he lied to MEPS about, he was out in a week and a half.
@@TetraSamurai the sleep deprivation was the hardest part for me. ANY time I could “sneak sleep” I took the opportunity. They were few and far between but I used to hide in a little room behind the dryers in our bay to sleep. Usually Sundays when the DS wasn’t around. I always told someone not to forget I was in there sleeping bc it was hot ASF in that lil room behind the dryers lol. As you know we got like 5 hours sleep per night and that was the toughest part for me, hands down.
@@cjwilliams6668 dude for me AIT was the 5 hour nights bc if phones. In basic I used the ear pro and would go to bed right after toe the line. I slept good af in basic, basically 7-8 hours a night
No shit JW ! Did mine at Gordon in 1981. These troops have no covers, pants aren't bloused and sleeves are...HELL, I don't even know WHAT to call that! No enthusiasm either. Drills seem more like babysitters in this vid! What has my Army become...?
Idk about y'all but in C 2-39 we looked didn't move this slow. Two platoons had to run the course three times cause they tied on the competition run lol.
April 1968, d-4-1 dragass hill basic training, June 1968 B-11-3 AIT tigger bytes and swamps. 11 Bravo, August 17 1968 my orders for the RVN. August 17th 1969 my last day in the field September DEROS. I got back to Fort Carson and my orders for E 5 were lost. Also they put me in a tank unit I loved the army LOL . BTW August 17th is my birthday 173rd Airborne 1/50 infantry A company. Lucky to be alive. Sprayed with Agent Orange. Our AO was west of Ankhe Ho Chi Minn trail Lucky man I am To anyone that is serving now I salute you. We were mostly draftees
Shit I really should’ve watched this video before I decided to join the Marines. That Female I’m guessing drill sergeant was literally clapping and cheering them on, but I don’t regret going through the toughest boot camp you can go through
This looks like summer camp. When I went to PI over 20 years ago my experience was a lot different. From the time the DI's entered the bus upon arrival til we graduated, we got screamed at. This shit looks like a fucking joke.
@@GenX_US_Marine guess what times change. Sorry your bct sucked ass. Military is more team oriented now. There’s smarter ways to train efficiently without beating the shit out of someone 🤷♂️
looks easy but you can't forget that we aren't even at 50%. we are so tired that even a course like this is tiring. only day I had where I was at 100% was the first step off on the first day of the forge
You will all have fun as long as you keep in mind to treat the words that come from the drill sergeants mouths as holy gospel. I'm exaggerating for a laugh, but just listen to what they say and don't let the negativity get to you, they're trying to weed out the weak minds.
I don't know, this seems soft as can be. I was there in 1995 and it looked and sounded nothing like this. There were females around us when I was there but the training itself was almost always separate. I lost 17 pounds in my first two weeks and my BDU's barely fit at the end of basic.
I went to ft Jackson for basic training in 1982 & my drill sergeant was Sergeant Holtzclaw & he was a cruel person & gave me hell cuz of my last name was Crook & just because I married a Crook didn’t mean I was one but he picked on me like I was a thief & I wish I had used me maiden name cuz he wouldn’t be able to pronounce it!!! We’re did out Pt test wearing combat boots 🥾
@@sarge6870 we don't use during those exercises we placed watches tags and anything else in your cover at the start to much rolling around to wear your cover
Watered down. Did you see the PE coach clapping and giving them encouragement 😂😂😂. No kevlars. Not headgear on the NCOs. I’m embarrassed. Couldn’t imagine training with women
VERY watered down! I did BT at FJ in 1986 - No one "encouraged" you - we got fucking yelled at. If we had moved that slow we would have to do the whole obstacle course all over again.
WTF happened. When I went to Basic Training in the 80's you were getting yelled at, being called a loser, names, etc, etc. by your Drill Sgt. All I see now is being encouraged, telling the recruits they are doing great, they can do it. I guess these days every recruit gets a participation trophy.
@@reviewbyKim NOOOOO you were part of the company that yelled "10 CHARLIE ROCK IN THE DFAC!" omg over at 1-61 they had us turn around when c-co 3-43 would do that hahahaha
It’s been coed for decades. Benning just recently became coed, that’s infantry school, where they (are supposed to) train you to be a badass. I went through in 2016 b 5/91, no women. It was as you’d expect infantry school to be. Couldn’t imagine how it is now.
