doing fun things that involve activity is key. seeing new museums, finding new walking trails, state parks with artifacts and monuments, doing new active things like zip lining, rock climbing, etc. there are sooo many things that are much more fun than partying and clubbing, and that you can do with friends. doing something active and fun then grabbing lunch and coffee. burning calories after or prior to the lunch makes up for caloric intake, and balances how you feel inside. there are so many cool things to see and do that require lots of walking and burns calories (even if only a little) that doesn't feel boring or like work. hope this helps!

also nothing wrong with partying or dinners you should continue doing all that makes you happy! it's just something new and would make life more interesting

I know exactly what you are saying! I’ve struggled with the same thing in the past. But what I’ve found is although I do enjoy going out with friends, I also enjoy the things like make me feel good on a day to day basis. I still go out with friends and it doesn’t mean I have to drink and party every single time. I also schedule fit dates with my girlfriends where we get up and go to a workout together and then find a healthy lunch spot. Or we do a hike and hit a farmers market. Or cook together at home and do a dinner and wine night with self care. There are so many options! It all depends if you hang out with people on the same page.

My strategy is pretty simply, stay healthy and in the gym weekdays, and do whatever I want on the weekends. Usually, I end up eating pretty healthy and staying active on weekends anyway, but I won’t deprive myself from party plans, going out for fun food, drinking, taking breaks, etc. I’ve still seen results this way! & it’s a good balance that works for me :)

Find an activity that is fun that you do not realize it is a workout...you have to be well rounded as a person or it will get to you. Try swimming, dancing, racket ball, tennis etc. just eat healthy and live your life and enjoy it.

I used to feel the same way. I would say the best thing that you can do is to find friends with similar goals to you. Instead of going out for dinner and drinks, find someone to go get coffee and take a walk with. When I get bored with the working out aspect I like to mix in a new workout class, like yoga or Pilates just for something different. When I go out (which is rare) I stick to low cal options like vodka water, but I limit myself to 3-4 so I can stick to my routine the next day without feeling like shit. But the best best thing you can do is not be too hard on yourself. Your physique will come with time but that doesn’t mean you can’t live your life in the process!

What worked for me was not completely eliminating drinking and eating out, just ADDING new types of social activities throughout the week. (full transparency) I do track macros Monday through Friday and try to get my workouts in during the week days so I have more time to do the "more fun" things on the weekends, but this never ever means going balls to the walls, all or nothing, binge drinking/eating situation. What I see it as is just a little more flexibility. Since nothing is off limits, really ever, I've found myself drinking significantly less now. I feel way better and the "routine" doesn't seem stuck since I have more interests that aren't always eating or drinking. Honestly, it just takes time to adapt to a slower life and finding joy in small things day to day

I totally get what you are saying Molly! And the only thing I can really say as someone who has had a fitness/health coach. Goes to the gym 4-5x a week. I often have to reflect on how I feel when I do those things that I consider “fun” such as drinking and eating out, or being out of my ‘boring’ routine. Does it truly make you happy or are you doing it because that’s what everyone else is doing. Also I think it can be a grey area! You’re allowed to change and adapt!

Anything you need to ripen fast put it in a brown bag/ or even just a bowl with an apple. The pectin in the apple ripens. Which is why they say not to put all your fruit together in a bowl on your counter.

We all need to focus on working on our mindset. Dwell/reflect on our reasons for doing every thing that we’re doing versus just being on to the next and acting on impulse. When you remember that what we’re doing is to keep us stay balanced and reach our wellness goals. Imagine if you go out drinking and clubbing on a regular basis, those activities will be boring! At least now they’re something to look forward to and keep you enjoying life as a whole 🤗 Resting and having fun are a big part of reducing stress and recovery. Who knows? Maybe they could also help you in attain your goals faster or more effectively 😉

just got to the end of the video / i am around the same age. im 26. and i feel this alll soooo much. not only am i a mom so i miss out in that aspect but im also in real estate school. so im heavily career focused like you. but balance is everything. im trying to find mine. but its hard to want to be healthy when everyone else can drink and eat nobu and do all these things - and still remain amazing looking 🥹 but im trying to focus more on my soul than my looks.

Hi Molly! I used to feel the same way about repetitiveness in the gym & it making me feel bored or sometimes unmotivated. I've been consistently lifting for about 2 years & I've found that changing my routines around every few months helps a lot. I'll usually try new exercises on upper body and lower body days, and see what I like the most at that time. I just recently added barbell bulgarian split squats to my legs days & they are insane. Overall, I think not being to stuck on one routine definitely helps a lot with the repetitiveness & it keeps the gym fun!

Those glasses look great. Love your videos. Tip: You can bake bananas with the peel on @350F/180C for 10 minutes to get a “ripe banana.” I love doing this when I make banana bread.

Just a quick trip I learned from my grandma. Wrap onions in aluminum foil and they will stay fresher longer. Also, onions pick up on bacteria very easily that can cause food poisoning and they can stink up you refrigerate, wrapping them in foil helps prevent that! Looks great and I've definitely been meaning to clean my fridge too! Gave me some motivation!!

I think you may struggle with this because of your “always on” work style. Because most of us get weekends it’s easier to keep “fun” things to those days and stick to a routine throughout the weekdays! I know for myself it’s all about balance and making sure I don’t feel deprived in any facets of life. I love getting drinks out with friends on Friday nights, and getting donuts and coffee in the morning! But I’m also religious about my weekday gym split and 10k steps! I also really value saving money so it’s easier for me to not blow a bunch of cash eating out all the time. It’s all about finding the balance that works for you!

hi Molly I'm so happy you have been consistent.in your posting as well because I miss you when you don't. I think you are struggling because you are alone working out. You described social fun. With drinking restaurants etc you are being social. What about finding pilates classes or a fun cycle class to try? I think you are missing the human interaction.
