Howsit bro. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, the adaptor can be fit over the shaft. Look for golf legends on Facebook. These guys are based in eersterust and sold me an adaptor for R150. They will be able to hook you up.

Hi johnny. I did wire up the hooter. I used the copper ring from the back of a spare steering I had. I attached it to the new one and this allows for the earth to make contact once the hooter is pressed

The steering controls on the right will be useless for the golf 1 as they are used to control menus on the cluster in golf 6/7 and golf 1 uses different cluster. Do you know if you can use a blank from a standard steering wheel and remove the controls?
I'm not sure on this. The golf 6/7 steering controls use the can bus to communicate to the car. You can try a canbus adaptor. My buttons are all dummies at the moment. I want to use one of the paddle shift buttons for the launch contr
Do you think you can also take the steering height adjusting thing and add it on mk1? that'd be nice as sometimes the clutch disengage is too low on my car and moving the seat forward the knees hit the steering wheel
You will need to change the steering shaft as well. I think the closest you might get is using the corsa c steering shaft, it also has the advantage of having the electric power steering unit as well as the tilt function. You will then need to get a square wave driver that uses a 555 timer to simulate the 3 speeds that the corsa uses to change the steering feel. There are units sold online. You could always adjust your clutch alternatively 😁
Hi. I had the new spec shaft. However the new and old spec steering shafts are the same, the new spec has an adaptir over the spline to make it bigger to accommodate the newer steerings. You can get an adapter from someone stripping a new spec golf and slip it onto the old spec shaft if you don't want to change it.
Do the indicators cancel when you turn or do they stay on? I have a 05 citi with new spec dash so will this steering be a straight fit or get the spline adaptor?
Hi. My personal opinion is that the golf 6 steering goes very well with the velocity dash due to the contours, however it does not suit the square dash. I would opt for the original Wolfsburg steering in that scenario
