I love how in depth you go when fitting stuff, it really does make a difference for someone doing this that doesnt know much. Cant wait until you rebuild this transit recovery and show it all 🤞, ill be the first viewer on the sofa with the coffee on tap lol 👍
Always nice to have a nice steering wheel and gearknob 👍 i always used to upgrade mine back in the day. I bought a lovely Series 2 RS Turbo off my friend, G397VMP, and he had upgraded it to a 3 or 4 spoke RS steering wheel, it was too thick, gave me pains in my hand, swapped it back to original. 👍
Hey Phillip so you used to be a Ford man to 👍 hopefully you havnt told me that already 🙈. The 4 spokes do have a thick wheel my mate has the 3 spoke version
Welcome to having a flat bottom steering wheel 😀 . With the gear nob and the TT sides has just transferred the inside and made it look so modern and custom far play 👍👍👍
Your van looking cracking. I like the gear shifter nice 👌 touch . My last caddy was a manual and that would have been a nice upgrade. I do like the DSG but prefer a manual on the back roads . But it took me ages to find a nice clean van and the one I found was a DSG , my left arm doesn’t know what to be doing. Need to get armrests fitted..
@@midnightrider6985 thank you I’m happy with the inside, I do like a DSG 🤙 don’t get me wrong being a driving man I like a manual but an auto does have its perks to.
@@YTDTETV It’s remapped around 200 bhp quick in a straight line but I had more control in my manual one in bad weather and across country roads. My honest opinion is stay with the manual but very hard to find one over here that clean and not hard a hard life. I dove up and down the country for months looking for one and the DSG was the best one I came across. Have you done a video of the registration led bulbs ??
@@midnightrider6985 ye very nice 👍 as you say you do need the manual for cornering hard, I havnt got to the number plate lights yet but they will be very soon, I’ll tie that Job in with another one to make the video abit bigger 👍
Hey Neil thank you mate 👍 we are getting closer to it being all done, on the list still is the later mk4 rear bumper, arch kit and side skirts, oh and I do want some new wheels. But that should be it 🙈
My MK4 wheel is looking shabby, I think I will just get it refurbed at 'Royal Steering Wheels'. Several people have recommended them to me. Dont know if I can get a gator that fits a MK4 though. Another great video man! 😁
Hey bud yes I’ve heard of them to 👍 a fresh wheel does make a good difference, the gearstick gaiters are very similar in most of the vags so I reckon one of these would fit 🤙
I can make all combinations of golf mk8 style stalks, cruise on stalk or wheel, mfa on stalk or wheel, i can make mk8 golf/caddy hybrid squib / clocksprings with heated steering output. If anyone is interested let me know.
Literally screwed them into the center console, on the back of the grab handles you need to pull all the little locator pins out with pliers or mulgrips. Thanks mate 👍
Enjoy watching the mods to the Caddy. The steering wheel and gear knob are on my shopping list. The Audi TT grab handles arrived today, and I followed your advice and got one without the knee pads. Just wondering how to fit them because of the centering knobs. Any advice? Regards from Germany
Hi bud appreciate that 👍 those venturing knobs just pull out with mull grips or plies give them a twist and a wiggle and they come out, all of the come out.
@@YTDTETV make sense mate! I have my eye out on eBay for a new one in mine have an mk4 caddy but it’s the old plastic wheel. Builds looking ace though mate keep it up
@@YTDTETV yeah toying with the idea of the polo MFSW and upgrading the SQUIB I have all equipment to code it in and if fitted a few on some mates cars just need to keep my eye out for parts at right price 🤙🏻
Thank you mick always appreciate you kind words mate 👍 I’m super happy with the van I use it every day and havnt been this interested in a vehicle for such a long time 😊
Hi Nathan. Love the videos. Can the u joint be changed without removing the column. I have play in my 14 model. Slight noise in it when rocking it. But no noise with engine running.
I used black screws that fit in there nicely, I removed all the locators from the back of the handles with a pair of pliers or mulgrips then offered them up and screwed straight in 👍
Hi Tom sorry for delay, there’s a page on Facebook called Vw caddy forum and there’s a guy on there that 3d prints them they are called coin tray inserts 👍
Wow that steering wheel has made a huge difference, very similar to my T6 but yours has the flat bottom and obviously no controls. Your van looks great, bet you love the attention at shows. 😎
Hey bud thank you I’m super happy with it, most Vw steering wheels are interchangeable going to use the old one on my T5. I havnt enjoyed a vehicle this much in a long time 👍 thank you for the kind words
@@YTDTETV good to see you enjoying your van too. I’m torn with my vehicles, for years I’ve had Nissan Terrano’s and loved them. I had a skirmish with the big c so we bought a T6 that I’ve converted myself. Still got a Maverick that’s nearly 30 years old and love it but it’s excessive really as it’s hardly a classic car but it’s a survivor and a bit of a sentimental story to it as well. These vehicles get under our skin buddy.
Hey max thank you mate 👍 it’s my first flat bottom wheel and it feels nice in the hands 🙌. I saw the TT grab handles in my mates van and such an easy little mod.
@@maxthecaddy8451 yes mate straight in the center consol with 4 black screws either side, when you buy a set you’ll notice on the inside there’s some little centralising plugs sticking out, they just wiggle out with mulgrips so the grab rail sits flush against the consol 👍
