When you put it on the scales I wasn’t expecting such a difference in weight. It also looks a whole heap better on the bike than the old one and has a great sound. Well done.
Had one on a drz sounded good.my main concern is heat.the stock exhaust on my gen 3 gets stupid hot.I can picture some little curious kid walking by it in the parking lot right after I kill it and touching the exhaust being scarred for life or something.how hot does it get compared to the stock exhaust?
Hey JJ, I'm looking at buying this for my KLR. I can only see one australian website that sells the Lexx brand. Do you remember how much you paid for yours? Cheers, Tom
thomas skinner something like $370. They are cheap. But I wouldn’t get one. They need repacking all the time. Not a real good solution for longer distance exploring.
@@jjsadv ah righto, they look so good though haha. Do you know how many kms your roughly get out if it before you need to repack it? Would you recommend another brand slip on or you still rocking this one?
Just repack it with stainless steel or copper wool rather than fibreglass, which should last the life of the bike. Alternatively just leave the spark arrestor out. It’s a bit louder but the muffler runs way cooler, keeps it colour, and you won’t need to repack it.
hey mate thx for sharing ,ps the rear mt 21 : being a 130/90/17 larger than stock did u have any issues with rubbing or effecting the sprocket ratios cheers
It hit the rear fender so I cut it off. That fixed it. And it just touches the wax tension pipe on the exact and full compression. It's not an issue you just see it shiny from time to time.
So does the color change up on you before the 30hr repack? Or if you repack before the 30hrs does it stay black? I don't want to get one and have it turn silver :O
I presume this happens as the packing degrades and the housing gets a little hotter than the paint can handle. I dont repack it every 30 hours. My rides are a lot longer than this and I am not going to repack on the run.
I have to reneg, I was talking to the dealer today and they said they drilled it out when they delivered it. They do this when the derestrict them here in Australia. So yes, the jet has been done. One size bigger.
Around 263 from the US www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lexx-MXe-Silencer-Muffler-Exhaust-Kawasaki-Kawi-KX450F-KX-450F-450-F-KX450-06-08-/231075376464?hash=item35cd2a6d50:g:k5wAAOxyaTxTVtYJ Sound is louder without the baffle. I haven't tried it without, but I know another guy who has and he says its to loud if you want to sneak around the bush. Power wise, I haven't noticed a whole lot. If it is its only a HP or 2, but I haven't rejetted the carby yet. I am not sure I will bother as I want fuel range and rejetting gives you a little bit more power but you lose fuel range.
Thanks for the reply. When I want to sneak around the bush I use my electric mountain bike, Like a silencer on a pistol, not as powerfully but deadly silent, Hell I used it for crusing all the Cul de Sacs and 4am and nobody knows I am out there like a Ninja LOL.
i need i little help here, i´m in a process of buying a KLR 650, can you tell me what is the right size of the tyres. I think it´s: Front Tyre 90/90- 21 Rear Tyre 130/80- 17 it is not dirt tyres that i want to put, it´s mix, more road oriented, thanks.
Good video thanks. You mentioned a cat in the stock muffler. I found this video where he cut it open that looks like there isn't a cat unless something in it acts as a cat. Just curious what the real deal is on this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PJP4cNhzZic.html After having the Lexx for awhile do you still like it or is it too loud? Trying to decide which to get, the Lexx or 2 Brothers.
Yeh, there is not CAT. thanks for showing this. I didnt really know, I just presumed due to my last bike had one. I wonder if they put a CAT in there in some countries?
No no haven't change the carb. I want to keep the beat range (fuel economy). Tyres are Dunlop 606 front and MT21 Pirelli rear. But will get a 606 on the rear next.
The jet is I believe one up from standard, they run a bit lean from factory. Thats it. The dealer did it at Pre Delivery, and does the same to all of them as a default.
@@jjsadv I hot a stock 2018 (1500 km) and I want to get this can. From what I understand I would need to drill the plug out to access the adjustment screw
@@bcshooterfmjprime7540 Im more interested in range over power. I need the most Kms per tank I can get. So I havent jetted it for power, but for economy.
@@jjsadv thank you very much for your replies I just sorted milex pipe and a jet kit I think I might go up to 3. I'm 260lb and I do most of my street riding on a Hayabusa so this is mostly for dirt I want a bit more pep. Thanks again
