In this video I show how to prepair you rifle, ready for fitting a Robert Lane Regulator.
From experience, I would suggest to just fit the regulator first and see how it shoots. If you want to go the full hog and open up the transfer port, you can, but you may not have to. This video show the initial installation and initial tuning results. It is a work in progress, and I may have to tweak it some more, but you will get the basic idea.
Remember that if you do this inside the warranty period, then the warranty will be void. Also remember that you are working with high pressure air. Make sure the rifle is unloaded, and you have blead off the air in the cylinder, before removing the valve. You can bleed the air by unscrewing the pressure guage, until you hear the air start to leak out.
The regulator fitted is the Robert Lane Lancet Mk9. The pressure should be set at 85 bar when doing the basic tune.
I drilled the transfer port out from 1.5mm to 2mm. This then required the valve spring to be stiffend with packing, then I set the regulator pressure to 75 bar.
