Fitting a Toilet In A VW CRAFTER Camper Van or Fitting a shower and toilet to your van is an essential van life job when your building your own camper van, We are fitting the Thetford C224-CW toilet and shower tray to our van And needed to cut out the hole for the Thetford Cassette Toilet Access. The removable waste-holding tank comes out the side of the van. So out come the tools and we got the hole cut. The Thetford toilet dose comes with templates which were a huge help when marking up for the hole we needed to cut out for the Service Door, And in this video, you'll see how we cut out and fitted our service access door to our van.

It always amazes me how confident you are getting your projects done. I think I would have stopped and said let’s pay someone to get this done because I don’t want to screw it up. Awesome job!!

i dont actualy mind messing up mate to be honest , i tend to learn quicker but im tankfull i got this one lined up and cut out correct , but iv taken me time with this , believe it or not this hole took me about 2 days to work out and cut out , mainly cos every thing had to fit right , the tray the toilet and every thing had to line up with the hole , which seems easy and it would be if every thing was fitted in but its not , any way it works so may be a little luck was on my side and a bit of over measuring and being a bit anal ,

thanks peter , the shower and toilet are all new to me , we have had t4 vans for over 10 years so it was just a portaloo ora bag , now iv got to build waterproof and stuff that works lol , its going to be a few videos this one but hopeffully if this dumb ass can do it any one can

Great video, I am just about to do the same thing with my van. Unfortunately..my Thetford toilet did not come with any templates, so a lot of measuring and cardboard cut outs is what I will be doing.....Hopefully it will turn out all right (fingers crossed)

Great shirt and how appropriate for this video LOL. Pretty nice it comes with a template. Was just thinking it would be backwards. So glad you didn't just slap it up there and start cutting. Wonder how many people do that? Stinks it has to go right over the plastic. So glad it fits. So glad you're filling the holes. Hatch for a 'bleep' box LOL that cracked me up. Awww Poppy!!! Thanks guys . I normaly get on to things like the template but guess I didn’t have my thinking head on me . But it all worked out good in the end . And yer it’s a shame that it goes over the plastic . But we forget these vans are vans they where not designed for us lot to start doing all kinds of stupidity to them lol

I like how they have 2 templates instead of one that most would send. why is there water running to it if it haas to be emptied I thought most of those where dry toilets

I’m not sure mate but I’m guessing not a lot . There a really popular toilet so I think there good on water usage . But we shall find out . Once the tanks are fitted we will test them and see . There being fitted on Wednesday

We cut an inch off the plastic shower tray and made it the same size, however we do not have exact measurements sorry

Really was planning on getting the same toilet/shower setup but to be fair bud it seems like a proper faff!lol think I might just make a shower room only and have a toilet cheap ports potti type thing instead. Out of interest, how big is the bathroom with your setup mate? Can’t help thinking with the toilet inside it would be a bit tight?👍🏼

Being honest mate it wasn’t that bad it just takes a while and getting your measurements right . These vans do seem to fight you all the way . Your constantly saying only if it was there and if that could just be a few inches to that side . But ya just get over it and carry on . I’m doing the shower build now and the kitchen . Which are both the same . But it’s all good fun

yer its a strange hole to cut this one mate , we did look at a lot of optioins even teh toilet in reverse and having the box come in to the van , but no no no we both where not happy about that idea it just seems dirty and wrong to us , so this was what we decided , it worked out better than i thought it would be to be honest and dose not look that bad , thanks for watching bud
