Fitting a Zero Point One short shifter in my Mini Cooper S!

Well look who is back so soon haha!! This time, I have finally edited up the recording of fitting my Zero Point One shifter!
I absolutely love this modification and ADORE how much better the overall 'driving experience' feels! The gear shifts are now tiny and perfect for those quick changes on the track or fast road driving!
I chose a black base with anodised blue framework, a carbon fibre shaft, orange cable with painted orange reverse clip and an anodised blue gear knob. What combinations would you pick?? Comment below!!

I got a JCW R57. Had it 4 years now. Spent a fortune on it. Don't use it very often but when I do it's so much fun. Was considering getting one of these shifters but now after seeing your video I think I definitely will. Thanks for the video.

does the shaft have to be to be that long? it looks like the shift knob position is very high compared to the standard location. is there an option for a shorter shaft making the gearknob lower?

That's just the length it comes in, it's mainly for track cars to allow for fast movement between the knob and the wheel. Thanks for watching! Miriam xx

Another great video I've just got a 2002 mini cooper s with full leather and panoramic roof but the head gasket is gone do you think it is worth repairing and how rare is it as I've never seen one with a roof like it

Boom welcome to the mini world! These are wicked little cars! The panoramic roof is fairly common on the pre facelifts, don't see many if any on the post facelifts! I'd say repair it... pretty cheap and easy to do on these :) if your near Essex we'd be happy to take a look for you! All the best, Miriam xx

@@ModAMiniGarage I'm in Wiltshire pretty far am quite confident in the repair just a bit nervous as never done a head gasket doesvthe timing chain need changing aswell or would it be ok to use the old one

@@ModAMiniGarage No worries, I've just done mine, not the neatest job but it works. Any hints for adjusting reverse gear as mine won't go into reverse most of the time. I was thinking maybe the vertical link arm on the right hand side needs adjustment???

You will need to find someone who can stripe them and paint the internals :) we did ours ourself, it's called a Joey Mod, there are people out there who will do it for you though :) Miriam xx

How did you get that info display up on your screen ?

First you need an android tablet radio (£60+ on ebay), you then need an elm obd Bluetooth adapter (£5ish from ebay) and then you need the Torque Pro app from the app store (£3) that's about it :) all works off the ECU :) hope this helps! Miriam xx

Hi guys, I'm a fan of our camal. Let me tell you that I have an R53 and I am going to modify the calipers, I have a couple of BMW reboots and I have the 330x25 adapters for the rotor and I would like to know if I need to change the break master cylinder and the break booster? thank you

Thanks for getting in touch! You probably will be fine using the same cylinder, BUT the pedal may feel a little sloppy no matter how much you bleed them... if it were me, I would fit the kit, see how it feels, and then go for the master cylinder :) I hope this helps! Miriam xx

With the zero point one it doesn't matter which cables you have :) the kit come in pre facelift and facelift forms so unlike other brands you don't need to change the cables :) makes it cheaper for the pre facelift peeps :) in this case mine were facelift :) I hope this is what you were getting at :) thanks for watching! Kind of yea! It's connected to a obd adapter which is connected to the Torque Pro app :) cheaper than an ultra gauge and looks better! £60 for the headunit, £5 for the app and £5 for the adapter :) easy to do aswell :) will definitely do a video on it one day :)

Cool product but I think it’s time to get a mic. It’s annoying to watch the video with headphones on because you have to turn it up to hear you talk and then when the super loud music you out it. Lows your ear drums… horrible soundsss all the way around!

@@ModAMiniGarage really not a fan of music on videos... If you make the average music volume much lower than the talking volume, it isn't as jarring. Really great videos, just hoping to tone down the filler... People never turn the volume up to hear the music on a car repair video. They always turn the volume up to hear the person talking. That should help set the priority. Love that your sharing this stuff and hope my comment on the music isn't a bummer. Just hoping to see more videos with small improvements like this.

Or because you frequent the track and enjoy modifying cars :) lots of reasons to do what you want with your own car :) not everyone has £1200+ to spend on a shifter though so get ypur thinking :) thanks for watching! Miriam xx
