I'm surprised by the temps without having an exhaust. I'd definitely like to see a version of this case that has room for stop top fans though. It wouldn't add a lot of volume and it would help the system in general.

Kxrors s400 is what you're looking for, it is 10.8l but can support a 3 slot GPU with 2 120mm slim fan.

Thanks for pointing out the benefits of undervolting in SFF, makes a big difference. I have a 12600k and RTX 3070 Ti FE in a Ghost S1 and undervolting helped mine a lot. I didn't need to get as extreme as you just a .050v core voltage decrease and for the GPU 925mV at 1920 MHz. GPU now maxes out at 72C and I actually got better performance than stock settings because I wasn't throttling.

Constantly going to my parents place on the weekend, being forced to leave my computer behind. This handled case was the only option for me but I was still hesitating because of the lack of ventilation. But you showed that simply undervolting was the solution, solving all my issues and more. Now, I can go anywhere with my PC, being eco-friendly reducing the voltage and gaining an immense durability for all my components saving me from a lot of future troubles and costs. That hand strap better be strong. When I'm out and about I ain't swinging 3k round via a couple of screws through a leather strap, I'm holding on tight with both arms 😂😂🤣🤣 Looks good tho, excellent value too no matter what you put in it.

I think I would've just gone with a 12700k since its already getting undervolted for a 12900k anyway you would get similar performance for way less money.

I think a lot of people are missing the fact you were going for the absolute best there is in this size format. Most people couldn't make these parts thrive in this form factor, but the Yes can. Impressive feat of tuning and planning

Yep. If you really wanted you could probably make the 12900k and 3080ti work in that case buy throwing more hardware at the problems but this is a showcase of a different, more efficient approach.

@@rayanmalik5744 few litres bigger and he can cool it with a 240mm liquid cooler. I have a ZS A4 V3, 8.4L and I have a top hat if I ever want to watercool it.

ITX has indeed come a long way and as a SFF enthusiast most people's needs , especially gamers, are easily met with itx systems. Its impressive what you were able to do with tuning here chasing that performance per liter. This case is perfect for gaming builds though and something like the SF450 , B550, 5600x and 3060 or 6600/xt is perfect. I like these more affordable sff cases for downsizing older gaming rigs even. Maybe a Tech Yes used /new price performance ITX build with this case in the future Bryan?

Built one in that case using a 12700, 3060ti and a idcooling S-50x cooler. Really quiet system, no undervolting required.

External plugin water cooler :P. Back old school style would be good for this. Can still carry the PC about with you then, just whip out small radiator thats prefilled and just connect it via quick connect when you arrive. Could easily be stored with keyboard/mouse.. Or if you have a monitor mount the cooler to the rear of monitor. Looks sweet though.

Since it dropped I've been eyeing the Loque Ghost S1 case. I think the top hats just make it a really cool option. I do wonder if like a Cryorig C7 might have fit better with your board and ram?

although there wasn’t room for top exhaust fans it looks as though the power supply was exhausting from the bottom if possible i would flip it around to pull hot air from the gpu(if gpu fans blow through the card)instead of blocking it and exhaust through the top of the case to help with temps because hot air will still heat soak the back of the psu anyway at least flipping around helps remove it rather than hinder

I really feel like cutting the acrylic side panel to allow for the Noctua cooler to slightly stick out the case would have been a better alternative to bending the cooler, ditching the VRM heatsink, and switching the RAM.

Really awesome build! Cool that you test undervolt! I'm surprised you get so good performance using 700mv. On 4 cards I have had if I went below 731-743mv depending on card, vram dropped from 14/15GHz to 10GHz, tanking performance. SOTTR 1080p highest on 3060ti: Stock 152fps/200W/1850-1950MHz UV/OC 2025@950mv 15GHz 160fps/206W UV 1620@731mv 15GHz 131fps/121W UV 1590@700mv 10GHz 117fps/102W Seems like the GDDR6X requires less core voltage to run at good speed. Really nice that you can cut pwr-consumption by almost 50% and still retain 85-90% of perf. My 3060 and 3060ti's could lower pwr by 40% for 85-90% performance or 50% lower pwr for 75% performance.

Yes i would change something, the cpu 12900k with 12700 and a b660 motherboard. The performance loss would not be so much and you could limit it at 65w if you need the temps to go down more. Founders edition video cards are extremlly rare in my country so i would go for another video card personally, but in your case it is the right way :). Cheers man!

If you go DDR5 that is, locked ADL can't up SA (stuck at 0.89-0.98v) volt meaning ram can't clock past 3400-3700 in gear 1, several people can't run xmp 3600 due to this nerf. K-cpus can adjust SA volt and clock ram to 3900-4300 i G1. In DDR5 which runs G2 default you are limited to around 6500 due to SA-volt which is more acceptable.

Awesome vid! A bit late for me though. That case has been on my list before I found someone locally selling a ZS A4 for about $100 USD. Slides in like the Thor case. When it comes to ITX imo, I limit myself to at least 65W CPUs just to save myself from thinking about overheating issues on that side. As for GPUs, I follow Optimum Tech's guide on undervolting just to squeeze more performance out of undervolting.

itx cases i feel they still have to improve for better airflow. those gaps between the gpu and the perforated panels, makes the gpu to reflow the air grabbing most of it from inside the case im talking about the new noctua solution for cpu heatsinks and itx cases, but implemente for gpus. or having a rear gpu mounting mechanism that allows you to mount it close to the side panel.

The thing is my B550M Aorus Elite isn't then booting into windows it just redirects me back to the bios over and over until I undo resize bar... I did hear that the drives must be from MBR-GPT format, what do i do then?

I want to build this with the 11600k and a 3070 with a vision motherboard not sure of the cooler was thinking was Thermalright AXP90-X47 but unsure of the size, or even if that cooler will be good enough. what do you think?

Awsome build!! I went air cooled in my lian li q58..65w ryzen7 2700 and a 2fan gigabyte 2060..got 11tb in it..using a noctua l9a cpu cooler and a fan grill and added a 120mm c.m halo fan..got 4 halo fans in it..1tb m.2..2tb laptop drive in the front and a 2x4tb 2.5in 15mm thick drives behind power supply and another at end of graphics card..I love it!! Got a vid on here if wanna check it out..used to have a 4tb drive hanging :)

Same as you. I put the computer together! But there is a problem, even if I use it a little bit, the temperature of the cpu goes over 114 degrees, and if I play the game, the computer turns off in less than 3 minutes. Did I make a mistake?

I have to ask: How was Bryan able to get that voltage curve flat on his 3080 Ti FE? On mine I can’t get it flat no matter what I do. I have mine set right now to run at 1740 MHz under load at .750 mV (not under load it will clock higher to the 1850 MHz range) which gets me a power draw anywhere between 220-250 watts. I would love to get it where Bryan has it but it is a noticeable drop in performance. It wouldn’t be a dealbreaker however.

Great build Brian, You and Jay are making itx the best ever, I would went with the Zalman M2 Mini Gray with Zalman low profile CPU air cooler, I love the motherboard, I love the fact you went with a no heat sink DDR5 GREAT CHOICE GPU knowing me I would of went single fan or double fan RX 6600XT or the RX 6500XT because I play RPG and Puzzle Games. Overall that is a dynamic mini build love it.

Sounds like you should have used a 12600K rather than the 12900K.

12700 is a sweet spot. saying that the 12700 runs at 4.5 ghz and you only get 124 secs of windows turbo boost and pulls about the same voltage as he's setup. plu he has 4 more e cores

i bought this case. the build quality is moderate. One thing that I hate is, every installed screw are very hard to unscrew, turns out when the paint wasn't dry yet, they already installed every screw on the case.

I found on a 3070 evga card I undervolted to 0.925mv and heaven benchmark did drop score. But then I upped memory speed from 7000 to 7500 and actually got higher score than stock plus was running 4-5c less temp. I slowed the mem down to 7250 mhz figured that should get me stock performance with lower temps. Not sure how much you can speed up the gddr6x mem though. My core clock sits at 1950-1980mhz undervolted also.

I'd say a 12700K would be good for the price/ performance as well and a 6700 XT now that prices have dropped quite a bit on that part. It's a shame the 3060 Ti or 3070s are still more expensive than the 6700 XT because I'd rather that route for better Ray tracing goodness in some games.

Every PC i have had since 2008 has been undervolted and overclocked. keeping cool and getting the most out of what you got. even my Threadripper is undervolted and overclocked.

Hi Bryan, it is a nice build but I do think that you should have gone amd with a 5800x it would have been much easer to cool and the performance lost would have been minimal (or non existant) also amd itx motherboards are much cheaper than intels one and there are a lot more cooler that have an am4 bracket apart from that really nice build I do have a similar case with no handle but 6.5L

I would have made a 1 cm thick gasket and use longer screws for the acrylic side panel that would have saved the VRM cooler. I guess you were in kind of a hurry.
