Thanks for doing this. Your videos are a great resource. I'm re-building a '73 Bonnie, and they are a wealth of information for the project. Thanks again!
Thanks, exactly what I need to do with my '72. I had to laugh out loud at the end where you were struggling an cursing under your breath and on the screen the text appears "Thank you Dr. Fene".Lol
Anytime Toyshop :-) It's great my vids are helping some folks, apart from the camera making it a bit awkward, I'm doing the jobs anyway so might as well vid them. Cheers
John,i am going to take my oil temp after a run.No oil cooler and i can put my finger in the oil !.I fitted my oil filter in the same place.Used a flat bar and two cable ties around the frame tube. The filter is an additional oil cooler too.Let you know the temp soon.cheers.
Hi John, Long time no see, You must have been out enjoying our "summer" such as it is. Anyway I as just thinking, could you put a sot of weld on the nuts holding the bracket to your frame? that might save a lot of fiddling if you ever have to remove and replace your new oil filter. Can't wait for part 2 so I'm off to see if I have missed any of your posts, Cheers for now Dave.
I use Morris 10w40 semi synth 4t oil these days.Found that i get a better tickover with the thinner oil and definately runs cooler.Only time i had the oil light come on was a winter,20/50 oil, opened it up when still cold, oil was too thick to get in the engine.I suspect, the timing cover oil seal opened up due to over pressure
Hi Dave:-) when's this rain gonna stop eh! the bolts are actually tapped into the bracket I dod of locktight would of saved holding bolts with spanner though. I made sure the filter is changeable without disturbing bracket.
Hi John,I am going to be installing an oil filter on my BSA a 65, i noticed on this video that you installed the filter on the oil going to the rockers , would it be ok to filter the oil coming from the tank to the pump let me know what you think Thanks John Glad your back.
Hi Steve :-) The reason they are usually fitted to the return is if they silt up they will restrict flow to the motor. As long as they are kept clean it really make no difference which pipe the are fitted to.
