**Glider Kits no longer available** Fitzgerald Glider Kits The history of the family owned company that has become the largest glider kit dealer in the U.S. www.fitzgeraldgliderkits.com
Don't mean to down on Fitzgerald's but we have had several in our shop that show poor engine builds. I have one now with teeth missing off the crank and bulls gear, mixing diesel in fuel and gaulded liners. Only has 500k.
so glad someone is building new trucks this way these new engines are a joke and will never last u cant beat the old engines and then use the newer technology to make them even better keep up the good work the owner operators really appreciate it
+3408kid I have the utmost respect for these guys. And with the engines it all depends honestly because i mean look at cars now a days and such they are running better than ever. A big thing was that CAT pulled out because they weren't able to keep up with emission standards even though they were leading the pack until about 2005. As soon as the DEF came about engine 'modification' went out the door. Anything new is not susceptible to modification because of the insane emission controls that are regulated by the government. Don't get me wrong i know the world's air quality is deteriorating but it has been since the world was created (how ever you view it) I mean we went through and ICE AGE and then to Tropical Weather...no one can blame humans for it all but we can be blamed for an increased rate of change. So i tread lightly when it comes to hating on the new things coming out because i hate emissions, i love rolling coal and super diesel power but i also want to be able to know the world will last at least a few more generations. It is such a touchy subject anymore. It used to be - no Detroit is where it's at and then the other guy would pull out a chart explaining why a CAT 6NZ was the better of them all, but anymore everything is combined and owned by a few head honchos and everything is moving to one standard which really is taking its toll on the little guys trying to do what they love and that is driving a quality truck like the trucks fitzgerald builds.
12.7 Detroit is a guaranteed million mile motor and one of the best in fuel mileage and very easy to work and get parts for....Those new dd15 cross breed mercedes/detriot regin motors are garbage!
Great video guys! The lore of a glider being a truck that came out of the ashes of a total loss is largely a thing of the past. I have had the displeasure of doing just that, being part of an organization that would buy a glider without rears and piece together a Frankenstein of sorts and as cheap as possible. Unreliable in the best of circumstances and a warranty nightmare on the backside. If I was in the market for a new truck I would certainly entertain your kits!
Hey there guys, I work for a fuel company in Miami, We primarily do ships. Pump work is 90 % of our work. We mostly run Mack Visions, very good truck for our kind of work. But these DOGS get old to, and alot of the new trucks with the DEF is nothing but a headache!!! They spend more time in the shop than on the road. Curious to know of you do Mack Gliders as well?? We would of course have to bring the truck to you, just wanted to know if you did them??
I wish I could sell International LoneStar gliders... would give me another bullet in the gun. I've a few customers in MO that buy my medium duties but will only run Fitzgerald for the road tractors. I can't bribe, beg or otherwise convince them to swap. You've a good product, I hope the Feds/EPA leave you alone.
Do you guys put the Peterbilt Smartnav system in any of these trucks? Pete puts some great features in their trucks ,but you guys have that drive train purring seems like.
HEY GUYS PLEASE COME TO CANADA AND SAVE US. Fucking DEALERS HERE IN CANADA FAKE DEMENTIA SAYING LOTS Of LIES ABOUT GLIDERS, WE NEED A PETERBILT GLIDER DEALER NOW ASAP!
These 60 Series Detroit’s are GREAT engines. Make no mistake. These are not the Detroit’s of old. Completely different from the old 2 Strokes. These are great engines !!!
@@josefastboats5874 true I do agree. Just remember the old school Detroit diesel owners saying if it ain't leaking oil it's empty. I always loved that. I did own a few with Detroits and they were good but not enough to haul the super heavy loads.
@@icebrakernh Yeah man, I actually used to think the Detroit weren’t that good, because the old 2 strokes Detroit’s like the 8v92s 6v92s and the 8v71s. Although those things sound sooooo good. They need 2 mufflers though. Ain’t no way you could run those things with a straight pipe. 😂😂😂. Aww man driver. Unless you wore the ear muffs then you could drive them. But yeah the 60 series was supposedly designed by an Ex CAT engineer that sold the design to Detroit. They ain’t what the old 2 strokes were. They’re just as efficient as a Cat is. But, to this day.... For brute power and just pure American awesomeness the CAT is hard to beat. My fav CAT is a 3406 B model. Love those engines
@@josefastboats5874 yeah buddy the 3406B model was hard to beat add the A model pump and you knew that you were giving her some. Those 2 strokes were kicking it too of the Detroit line. When the 60 series were set up right they did well if it was a stock tune they were ok.
Do these Glider's Kits come with the Rear-Ends already in the chassis? I know years ago they didn't. We had to take out our's and put under our New Glider Cab's.
Paul, we offer Detroit, CAT and Cummins pre emission options. Customers can customize these trucks as much/as little as they want. We have a number or pre assembled trucks ready to roll in a variety of configurations.
Hold on to it brother. I have a 6nz cat. Saving for a rebuild now. Cat is the strongest( in my opinion) don't want the keyboard killers to hunt me down. Safe travels
@@slowpokez80 Maaaan ain't nuttin like a CAT! Yeah i feel ya on the rebuild kit! I'm stacking chips for the Platinum Kit too. Keyboard killers... LMAO! Safe travels and Happy Holidays ✌
@Dancing Deity epa and dot tried shutting them down, didnt want trucks to last 2mil without getting themselves richer bro. If you can find a cat motor. Hold on tight and you'll be all right!!!!
@@dandtfarms3365 I'm not disagreeing wit you on that but I will say they tried before & it didn't work. They have a lot of different support behind them & can provide a lot of information proving their point of the gliders
Absolutely Awesome! if there's anybody out there that can give me suggestions on how to get into one I would like to become an owner operator I don't like those piece of junk engines!! THANK YOU.
You guys are the last hope for a owner operators to turn a profit in this industry. My DD15 has been the least reliable piece of turd ever made they should all be recalled and scrapped. I'm working on getting 120k together to hopefully end up in a glider and see a profit again.
Who would've thought they'd decide to completely destroy their reputation by using shitty Chinese Parts in those house built Detroits and having them blow up within 150-300k miles... And the fact they started building frankenstein engines with Parts they had laying around the shop. Sad..
More hp low rpm get mpg and 3.70 gaer mpg and run 1000rpm mpg and 1500rpm max and 850rpm get mpg and 25speed gaer mpg and some day 30 speed gaer mpg 6cly mpg and trubo mpg and bigger hp is more mpg more power more mpg and lower rpm mpg
