My Grandaughter turned me on to Five Below,two years ago! I couldn't Believe the deals! When my daughter was little we put everything on tree with ribbon no hooks at all! Plastic or wooden ornaments we actually used her blocks and teething beads also without hooks at top ribbon to affix to tree ;-)

I created my own flocking material using dt spackle, school glue and caulk. It does not flake! I can't remember what the ratios are, but I think there should be less glue and caulk and more spackle. Just a little bit more. I used disposable gloves to apply to my tree. It dried within a few hours but I left it overnight. It did not flake off, even after storing. I hate the usual flocked trees because they are so messy and one year I got one and the flocking stuck to the clothes I was wearing when I decorated and wouldn't wash out 😬

@bargain Bethany another cheap flocking hack if you want a chunky snow effect is (1 part white glue, 1 part corn starch & 3 parts shaving cream) you just mix it all up in a bowl then rub and glob it on the branches the way you like and leave it to dry 24 hours before decorating your tree
