These sessions have been invaluable to me. Thank you for posting them. I look forward to employing the ideas you have presented and I hope there will be more.
That part of the finger you are describing is called the proximal phalanx. We can all thank my wife the Doctor, Yeaahhh. Great site Filip. Cheers Wylie.
Hello Filip! Many of us have had a harmonica at a very young age and some were lucky to have a chromatic one! Your presentation is among the most mature and sincere I have watched on u tube considering all musical instrumentalists. Have you made a video on the blues harp, as they call it? You also do know how to make nice music. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Glenn for your kind words! Yes I have made many videos on the blues harp but not exactly like this kind of video. But just search my RU-vid channel and you will find blues harp videos.
Hi, Filip! Love your videos! This one is very clarifying, as always. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Could you help me with a query I have? When I hear you (and some other players) playing the chromatic, I feel like your sound is fuller and smoother (lile a clarinet). I have a good sound on diatonic. I move my jaw down a little bit, relax the muscles, use hot air, but it still doesn't sound as beautiful. I don't know if it's my harmonica or if I should practice some especific exercise. I have a Hering's 64.
Loving the new hairstyle Filip! I imagine it provides better insulation during these cold days. 😁 Merry Christmas and enjoy your end of year festivities!
What about a diminished tuned harmonica, only 3 ways to play any scale. Do you have expirence with that tuning? Thanks for so many good advice and nice videos.
Yes I have one but I think you gain some things, but loose some things. And I dont like having the same patterns for keys, I like that every key has its system and feel. But it is a smart system!
Flip, These videos are great…your haircut gives you a look of adult distinction (good look), …do you offer a teaching on a song, such as how you masterfully play “Misty”?
I noticed in your part 1 video you were playing a Suzuki SCX-64 (I think). Did you have to make any customizations to the harmonica to make it more air tight? I have heard that this particular model of Suzuki harmonica sometimes require a slight customization to make it more air tight.
@@FilipJersMusic I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your Autumn Leaves solo, which I have learned. It's my first solo and it's so well written!
I have purchased cheapest Topincn USB heating pad for less than $10 on Amazon. It's piece of trash for body heating, but perfect for chromatic harmonica. Size and safe for harmonica highest temperature.. just wrap it around harmonica and in a few minutes it's ready - as warm as your body.
