I've resolved this problem buying a NONSLIDER SEYDEL I'm an alpinist and in open air for me was very difficult play our loved instrument !!! Nonslilder is whitout wind savers just like a diatonic 😁
The problems I tend to find with my new chromatics (as with the Suzuki SCX 58 I just bought) is that the highest notes (the 9 and/or 10 holes) don't produce any sound. I take it apart and don't see anything obvious, but they just make no sound, or only do so when I blow very hard, which I don't want to do of course. Any thoughts?
Try moving around your tongue in the oral cavity. It can be a thing with resonance. Add a little "ta" articulation and see if that that can help the note kick in. Also experimentet with air pressure, try playing just short notes or long tones, that can help.
Hey Filip! I recently purchased a brand new Suzuki SCX-64. I must say it is INCREDIBLE! However one of the notes is not working and I took a look at the reed plates inside but there was nothing stuck inside. It was literally brand new. I’ve done everything in the video that I could. Any tips?
Hard to give feedback just by comments... The 6 hole blow is located on the inside of the reed plate. So you need to unscrew the whole harmonica and plate, then use a tooth pick or light screw driver, push very light on the reed and see if it moves. Try to plink it, see if you can make it sound. If it moves in the reed slot, it is not the harmonica, then it is a matter of technique.
@@FilipJersMusic Thank you. I plinked it but I still can’t get a sound out if it. I can play just fine on the other holes so I’m not sure what’s up. You have been so helpful and I appreciate enjoy your content. If only there was a way to send you a video or something…
Interestingly enough I can indeed hear the blow and draw of the note but only when I open and breathe through my nose and mouth together. I know it’s strange but it seems to negate the problem a little.
Thanks, Filip, for this important instructional video! I will check to see why one of my notes is not working and another note sounds hoarse. Two more things: (1) I think the term you were searching for is "paper clip," and (2) A question: How do pieces of paper get in there? Do you have unusual eating habits?
Hi, it is a SCX48 in C with the Maret cover plate. The reeds, slider, body is a SCX. So it is a hybrid. The beauty with Suzuki harmonicas, you can often switch parts between the models. I really like this harmonica!
Any advice on how to get rid of flapping noises from windsavers? I hear a very audible flapping sound on my lowest three holes and im not sure how to fix it
