You prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any help you can offer me
I recently started learning how to hand embroider. My best friend sent me a few kits in the mail & encouraged me to give it a go! My mom passed away 7 years ago, when I was 20. She could sew anything! She made me clothes, costumes, Afghan blankets, she made all of my siblings a quilt with pillows to match! She just had a real talent. So since I started, I keep thinking to myself, if only my mom was here to teach me this stuff, it would be so much easier! But then.. I found your channel! I cannot tell you how helpful it has been! I’m awful at understanding what the instructions say and you always show things to clearly. You seem like such a sweet, insightful lady and I’m so grateful for your videos!
Good for you Taylor! Learning to do something your mother did and enjoyed can be thought of as a way to connect to her now... a way to spend time enjoying a shared hobby. I do this when out hiking in the woods enjoying nature, collecting rocks, watching a water fall or the sounds of waves, I never feel alone. My father enjoyed these things, he graduated this life in 2005.
Beautiful cat. So cute. I have a tabby and I know how nosey they are. Really helpful and relaxing tutorial. No music thank goodness. I’m just starting and have just received an Aunt Martha’s Iron On Transfer book called Sunbonnet Days and cannot wait to get started. Thank you for your lesson. Lesley x
You present stitching tips and techniques in a way that is completely unique on YT. No frills and no shortcuts. I’ve learned techniques that I haven’t found elsewhere! Thank you a thousand times!
I just find your channel, thank you very much to show how to embroidery. By the way, love your cat, it made me remember mine who I just lost. He loved to be around me when I was embroidering.
I'm a total beginner when it comes to embroidery so I'm very grateful for your calm, relaxed way of teaching each new stitch. Your co-host is exactly what I needed to relax me into it 😉🐱
A lovely, lovely video, cats and stitching , a life affirming touch of sanity in tough times. Thank you Sarah for this and particularly for leaving the cat’s contribution in!
I don’t know if you go back and read these comments years after the video was made but I’d like to say the camera angles on the coral stitch were very well done and made it really easy to see exactly how this stitch works. All of the camera work is great but this one was really great!
What a lovely video. You show great techniques. I also appreciate that you show how to end one thread and start another one in the middle of a stretch. Often people don't show this, and as the techniques become more complicated, it really matters. Thank you!
You are so kind and patient. Thank you for taking time to show us how to make beautiful embroidery. This is a gift that will last a lifetime. Thank you Sarah.
Sarah, I so appreciate your tutorials. You are an excellent teacher and I've learned so much from you. Your cat is a sweetheart and you can feel the love between the two of you!
I love the fact your cat wants to get in the video. I’ve never seen anyone put knot on right side and then making a couple small stitches before making stitch. I love your techniques. Thanks for sharing.
As usual excellent demonstration. And superb 'videography' of the process!! Last but not the least, the way you indulged your cute cat for sure tells how patient a person you are :)
I am new to embroidery and also a left hander and am finding your tutorials amazing! Thank you for the lovely calming way you speak to us.....looking forward to watching all your videos!
Thank you Sarah for this tutorial! You are incredibly clear in your speaking and in your instructions. I am just beginning and I have learned so much already. I cannot wait to check out the rest! Love the love from your cat. (: perfect addition and so honest to what life is about.
Thank you Sarah, I’ve so enjoyed your podcasts. You have a great way of explaining, and you don’t rush everything! I’ve learned so much, looking forward to future lessons!
Thank you Sarah, very clear well paced instructions. I've just begun doing some embroidery for slow stitching, my eyesight is not the best, so I do the easy stitches. Your video is most helpful.
Like your video. I use embroidery with my crocheting by making eyes mouths etc on my crochet animals, dolls, etc. my mom was an experienced embroidering and taught me. I’ve done crewel work, long stitches, etc. so appeciate your patience with your kitty. I’m a kitty lover too. DianA from NC
I can’t even think of doing knots 🤷🏻♀️I’m doing this freehand…not much control. Can’t wait to get that barrel clamp! Hope you had a nice holiday! I’ll revisit this tutorial and do the second half later 🙏🏽🙋🏻♀️👍🏽Mia
Sarah you have such an easy no nonsense approach to your explanations . I'm an older beginner and you have taught me stitch names, uses and their variants so for that I thank you. You will be my go to woman for embroidery. :) ps love to the cat too!
I just found your channel and love your technique of teaching. I’ve learned so much, especially how you start your knots and beginning the stitches. So relaxing to watch and listen to you, and the closeups are superb! Thank you! You have a new subscriber !
☺️there so much negativity out there, makes it is SO wonderful to tune to a channel with a special person talking to us about something beautiful 💖. I’m a woman and I so appreciate this touch of normalcy, especially in today’s chaos.
Hello from Dallas. Sarah, you sure taught me a lot. I was sick a lot as a child so we had to wait in busy corridors a lot. Mom taught me a lot of basic stitches. I loved embroidering and mom kept telling me how good I was at it. I’m 65 now and adding yet another medium to everything else, I am excited about embroidering again after so many years. Grandma taught mom and mom taught me. Now it’s time to teach my daughter. She never taught me how to do the chain stitch, but I have a set of pillowcases that grandma made for me 60 years ago. They are hand-tatted too. Thank you for teaching me one of grandmas stitches. You’re a sweetheart Sarah.
I'm sorry you had to learn embroidery in difficult circumstances Debby but happy that you love it! It's wonderful you are passing it on to the next generations too, I hope they find it so rewarding also. x
Thank you for your effort and for the PDF. I love your tutorials as I always learn something new, or I’m reminded of something I had forgotten. I’m glad you’ve included your cat - her little antics did put a smile on my face!
Yah!!! I just learned a new stitch. Coral stitch. Thank you! I love your videos. You are so calm and such a wonderful instructor. Thank you for the videos. You cat buddy is fun to watch too. Love it when he comes to visit!
Amazing video!! I am VERY new to embroidery as I have only made some patches using the satin stitch. So all of the different stitches and their names and uses get a bit overwhelming. But this was really helpful! I like that you can make the basic stitches then choose if you want to dress them up by whipping or weaving or even double weaving! There are so many possibilities and combinations! Thank you so much! I will definitely be watching more of your videos!
Start with just a few stitches Emily and when you are confident with those, add a few more and build up your stitch bank! Good ones to learn are: Running stitch, back stitch (then you can whip and weave these to your hearts delight!), chain stitch, stem stitch and buttonhole stitch and French knots. Learn these and you will have good skill set to go further
Its a rainy October day in California. I have decided to go back through all of your videos and make a sampler of all of the stitches you are teaching. And I want to just say a big thank you for these videos. You are an excellent teacher and they are so well filmed. Also, I love your cats. Mr. Orange reminds me of my cat Jasper. No project is complete without the touch of a cat!
Thankyou Sarah...I have learnt so much from watching this. No knots left in the fabric (!) and so much more. You make simple stitches look special. I enjoyed the cat’s interruption too and that you left it in...lovely. I look forward to learning more from you. Have a lovely day. Sandy x
Mrs Homfray : how well explained and shown, in such a concise manner. With that extra free fun... a nice cat learning how to embroider. Bravo on your tutors ! 💙 DG Canada

Thank you for taking the time in making these videos for us. One thing I've noticed amongst the embroidery RU-vidrs, is when you really focus, everything is so quiet that we're able to hear your heartbeat ^-^ , I just think that's a funny fun fact. Thank you again for the content you're providing both here and on your site. Best wishes!
