I'm always blown away by your ability to be both a fluid orator and skillful demonstrative shooter. It's like you're a professional commentator of someone else's focus. 🤯

I laughed at the 3 way joke, too. 😂 This was an excellent tutorial, B. I’m at the point where I call a safety out loud when I’m going for one, which I know isn’t necessary, just so my opponent doesn’t think I’m a complete idiot.

Thanks for the great content! I think this video exemplifies the concept of “Do less, Better” that I’m trying to put in my game. I’ve found myself losing matches sometimes by missing safeties that were too intricate. Keep up the good work 👍🎱

Growing up on a snooker table led me to learn safety play early on.. I used snookers or safety play the most when my potting was not going well.. Obviously pool is a smaller table and more aggressive so I tend not to do much these days.. Nice video, thanks 👍❤️🙏

in fighting games, theres a thing called "option selects" that kinda remind me of the two way you were talking about. basically youd do an input and depending on what happens it could turn into an attack or a block

This is very timely because this coming weekend I play in a scotch doubles tournament. And the top two winners, get to go to Vegas! What’s interesting about this, and relevant, is that I am an APA 6 and my partners a 3, so the more safety I can do, the better, & it is going to be better for both of us.

Thank you so much for this Bryan! I've started playing in September and I've been practicing a lot, but safety play was always a weak point for me and it wasn't something I could really practice. This video gave me a lot of ideas and I’ll try to incorporate them in my game! 😁

Hey Gang - do you think league players play too many, or too few safeties?
@williammone7936

Generally too few i would say, myself included. The obvious exceptions are those 6's and 7's.

I guess depends on the league, but I'd guess too few for most, especially APA with more beginning players. Speaking for myself, I play too few, that has cost me some games, I am learning though, if you can't run out, play safe. Thanks for the video Bryan, good information 😊

i sometimes use this in 8 ball probably confuse some of my team mate until i explain why i did what i did , other then that i shot decent , i accidently might play one my shot wrong in Champion match wrong and scratch witch made the lead we have 5-3 to 5-4 , next to 2 team mate lost 5-5 then next 2 one of my team mate made outstanding long shot over the ball long corner shot ran out next 2 balls and made the 8 ... With that say Team won the Club League Championship make me 2 time winner and friend in photo he finally got his first Championship

My process, hide cue ball tight, and/or hide object from kick, plan to not leave ball near money ball. Keep in mind a straight in while cue ball is on the rail and travel is required for next ball is super tough leave. if only hiding cue ball, don't leave a hanger to kick in. ***If on the receiving end of the safe, watch the path of the object ball, you might follow same path to kick it.

Let’s say ur presented with a safety shot from your opponent in which there is a small probability that even a 2 or 3 rail kick shot will produce a solution. Does it make sense to resort to a “chaos theory” approach and slam the hell out of the rack and hope that it improves your ball positioning better than your opponent? He’s getting ball in hand regardless so why not roll the dice?
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 10 месяцев назад
That’s extremely easy to answer- if you run racks and your opponent doesn’t, I would break up the rack. I’m yet to have someone run their first rack against me and I don’t care if they get to make three or four balls. In fact, I prefer they do - too many people spend too much time playing safety against people who could not run out if their life depended on it.
