"I just want to tell you all how happy I am to be back in the studio, making a picture again! You don't know how much I've missed all of you. And I promise you I'll never desert you again because after Salome we'll make another picture and another picture. You see, this is my life! It always will be! There's nothing else! Just us, the cameras, and those wonderful people out there in the dark!… All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up."
Yuma thank you so very much. Yes Blodell Reserve is a very special place here in Washington State. Feels a bit like being in a Jane Austin novel. Cheers.
Oh thank you. that is my little private garden. the other one off the patio is lovely to. Like the song says, "Hey buds below ... up is where to grow Up with which below can't compare with. Hurry - it's lovely up here ..."
I love the pictures of you and the intro as much as your recommendations. Happy to have you back! Yes 2020 has proven to be challenging, it’s interesting to me that we are all collectively going through this together.
Lanier Smith You’re Welcome. It’s getting better . I was laid off from my old job for 4 months from this covid stuff going on . I just started a new job , it’s more money per hour so it’s a win. So stuff is getting better for sure - cheers 🥂
Terrific lineup, my friend. I hope you're doing well and always glad to see your reviews...especially in these trying times. Don't be a strangers...more cocktails nights, with Lanier, for sure! Cheers.
I think I have given up mixing hooch on air. LOL. it's just to much setup and cleanup. And besides that I end up drunk at 9:30 in the morning! Cheers my friend.
Hellloooo Lanier, boy have we missed you!!! Welcome back!!! I get so jazzed when I see that you posted a review that I look forward to watching at the end of my day!! Also, your music is always amazing and I have purchased many DVDs based on what you play...Amazon should pay you commissions! BIG HUGS from a BIG FAN!! ~Lisa in San Francisco!
Great description of Acqva di Sale! Huge fan of Acqua Viva and Dulcis in Fundo from the brand. Can't be without my Cousin Matthew from Penhaligon's for the summer. Possibly my favourite soapy petitgrain fragrance of all time. Nice to see you in Chris' livestream today Lanier!
It was fun chatting on Chris' livestream with everyone. Oh Cousin Matthew... from the Portraits Collection. I have a few of those...Lots of fun. Cheers.
Yes It is a lovely opening. I had fun filming it. It was filmed at the Blodell Reserve, an estate on Bainbridge Island here in Washington that has been turned into a fantastic public garden. Cheers
Thank you q8coquette! You are very kind indeed. I love my bathroom. It still seems huge to me compared to my old bathroom back in San Francisco. (I had to get out of the shower just to turn around!) Cheers.
Always wonderful intro's Acqua di sale took me a few wearings, and now I just love it. There's a Aqua di Parma that has myrtle in it also. Mirto di panarea. I remember this smooth and cool opening . It changes from that, then goes a bit bitter if I remember. Still have a decant. Doesn't perform well, but the opening was , honestly, I thought of tea. Let me go check . Nope . No tea. Still it was uplifting for the first hour. stay safe and be well Lanier.
there you are Johmathan! Yes it took me some time to get into Acqua di Sale. Funny thing, when I sampled it at Fumerie Parfumerie in Portland I feel in love at once. then got it home and it seemed different. But after a few wearings I feel in love all over again. Cheers.
Thanks so much for this wonderful list. I just rediscovered Pour Monsieur that I have neglected for almost a decade. And suddenly I felt the urge to get another bottle. I also like Bois d’Argent that always was an autumnal fragrance for me, but now I will try this in summer. And Blenheim Bouquet is a true classic summer fragrance. So I guess I should try the other two as well. ☺️ Thanks so much for this list!
I've gone through a full bottle of Chanel No. 5 L'eau since I got it 2 months ago........ Good thing I bought a second one soon after! My fave Dior frag for summer is Belle de Jour-- best pear note I've ever smelled. Just got a BUNCH of samples from Luckyscent-- batting 0% so far.... why do so many modern frags smell of nothing but chemicals that are trying hard to smell like something natural? Is it just me? FEH!!!
No it isn't just you. That's why I keep going back to the classics. Sometimes even an old perfume that has been reformulated umpteen times still smells better than most new cutting edge hip new models . Cheers Kevin.
What a beautiful and elegant video. Loved seeing your fragrance setup. Where was the opening shot? Also, very timely as I was debating between Fico di Amalfi and Mirto di Panarea.. I'm leaning towards the latter as it seems more ethereal and softer. Thanks for the video!
Thank you Chris. The opening was shot a Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island in Washington State. Here is a link: bloedelreserve.org/ Cheers and thanks for watching.
Love to see you back Lanier!! What a great summer collection ❤️ I’m loving N°19 in all forms and Chanel Beige for summer right now. Can’t wait for more videos and hope all is well!
I considered No19 but for me it is more a spring fling kind of thing. LOL. Beige too is fabulous for summer. As a mater of fact I may just wear it tomorrow. Cheers.
Hi! I’ve been a fan a long time, and your love of Chanel Pour Monsieur made me seek out a bottle. Where do you buy yours from? It is hard to find in the states.
Hi Lanier👋🏻😄 great to have you back. Hope you are doing well and keeping safe. Some quality picks there(as always) love Blenheim Bouquet, Pour Monsieur and Acqua Di Sale. Cheers and Best
Nice pick ups, sir! I just find you, here, on yt community recently and i just found some superb useful information, nice classic fragrance and a story in each and every review video. How old are ya? You have such a great vibe, a beautiful joy and a positive feeling. Keep doind that right, i ll follow you because i love fragrances, i got a decent collection .
Hello Timofti. You comment is very kind and appreciated. Thank you. How old am I? A gentleman never tells LOL. I am 70 years old. Probably the oldest fragrance reviewer on line. But to tell you the truth, I feel only about 12 years old. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Yes they have and years ago when I was a young waiter in San Francisco he was one of my regular customers whenever he was in town. He was a magnificent and charming gentleman. So thank you very much for the complement. Cheers.
