Seeing y'all try grilled cheese for the first time was so cute. I've been eating grilled cheese since I was a kid (we have it with tomato soup!) so it warms my heart to see someone who has never tried it get to discover it for the first time.

Nothing better than Dave and Erina food content. I'm always surprised when people say they never had a grilled cheese or a Pb&J. Then I remember it's more an American thing.

I like Five guys bc of all the toppings you can get on it, the fries and the milkshakes, but yeah it's expensive AF!! Glad Erina had a great time.

한국 아재가 느끼는 햄버거는 그냥 패스트푸드이기 때문에 세트 말고 버거만 만원이 넘어가면 보통은 먹지 않는다... 요즘같이 고물가시대에 3~4시되면 배고파지고 살은 많이 찌는 햄버거는 가성비가 떨어진다... 그래도 런치할인되는 맥도날드는 한번씩 감 ㅋㅋㅋ 그나마 가성비 좋으니까(개인피셜임)

솔직히 한국에 들어와서 오픈런 하는 외국 브랜드들...왜 맛있다고 하는 지 모르겠어요. 괜히 오픈런 줄 선게 아까워서 맛있다고 SNS 공유하고 그래서 그렇게 된 것 같은데 그냥 그돈으로 그 매장 근처에 분위기 좋은 수제버거집 가서 먹고 여자친구 옷이라도 한벌 사주는게 더 좋더라구요. 외국 브랜드? 는 아니지만 맛있게 먹었던게 주한미군 부대에 잠깐 파견가서 먹었던 미군PX에만 파는 그 기름 주르륵 흘러내리던 내 머리만한 조각 피자. 얼마였는지는 기억 안나는데 5천원도 안되는 가격에 거의 한움큼 퍼주는 감자튀김 ㅋㅋㅋ 그리고 한국인은 세금문제로 구매 못하는 특대형 몬스터나 기타 식품들 차라리 그게 더 맛있었음

i had the exact same sentiment as Dave when i tried 5 guys. i've maybe had it only twice. lol also, the leaf soup you were talkin about looks like what we call "turnip greens" in the south. love it.

You guys got ripped off. In America they literally fill that entire bag up with fries, regardless of the size. It's expensive but if you get a small fries it's almost double that amount. It's their marketing strategy. Love your stuff :3

it's about the peanuts at 5 Guys. You grab some to snack on for free while you're waiting. That's why they fry everything in peanut oil!! And their other trademark is that they always throw in an extra scoop of french fries on top of your order, even if you don't buy fries! (probably why they are so expensive, upcharge the regular menu items to cover the extra fries)

trying out five guys for the first time in the US like 8 years ago, i had the exact same reaction. only good thing is that you can add extra bacon or any topping for free. In n out clears in value and taste. surprised you didnt comment about the soggy buns

I feel like your reaction to Five Guys is about the same as mine when I tried it for the first time. When I started attending college in a bigger city that had Five Guys, everyone insisted I should try it and acted like it was god tier food. Finally went to try it and was beyond disappointed by how average the food was.

I love seeing them hang out. It's so comfortable and easy. I love Erina's long, dark hair! Her smile is always so big and happy! She makes me smile with her enthusiasm and sense of humor. Seeing Dave be honest about the burgers made me happy, too. A Five Guys opened up near where I live and finally trying it... It wasn't as great as I expected. Where I live, you can't expect great food to begin with, but this was definitely not even on the list for a place I would pick first for a burger. The fries are the only item on the menu I think that are worth spending money on. Although, here, you get like a big overflowing heap of fries, even if you order the smaller size. I'm glad that Dave was finally able to try it and form his own opinion. You never know how things are going to turn out, even something as simple as trying a new burger place. I also think that their bacon is too overcooked or maybe I'm thinking that it's too dry and tastes like it's been sitting for a really long time. I may have heard somewhere that they don't fry the bacon fresh to order, they just have a stockpile of cooked bacon sitting there. I'm not sure if that's accurate or not, of course, but it sure makes sense when you taste it. I think chain restaurants like that get way too much hype. It's hard for me to understand the whole crowd mentality when it comes to trends/popular things regarding food specifically. But I always at least take a chance and at least try it first to see if I like it or not. I don't put much stock into other people's opinions because everyone is allowed to have their own preferences. No one's tastes buds are going to be exactly the same, and you can't force them to be. I appreciate when Dave is honest about the food. We all know Erina can eat and definitely has a big palette. It makes me happy to see her, not just with Dave, but in a video in general. I love seeing her perspective on things. Her putting the vinegar on everything made me smile. She's so unique. Anyway, this got really long, lmao. Thanks, Dave and Erina! Good to see you guys hanging out!

If no one knows the secret menu hack then you should try ordering a grilled cheese (basically just the burgers flipped upside down and crispy) and then order it with a patty and whatever else you'd have with it, and it ends up being cheaper and way nicer

tbh I have the exact same feelings about their food, it's not bad at all, but it's just kind of a regular burger at a regular price (it's the same in the US), but if I want a burger and they're the only chain nearby it's definitely a solid option Their milkshakes tho are 10/10 some of the best from a chain

Five Guys is pretty mid range for burgers, but as a fast food place it's not bad. Their fries can be really good or fairly bad depending on how fresh and well cooked they are.

Five guys is just as expensive in the US. I think for a fast food burger, they are better than other places we have. But yea, they are just as expensive as getting a burger at a regular sit down restaurant like Red Robin. I have gone to Five Guys a couple times just to get fries to bring home haha

I like five guys if u get the kid size, it is 1 patty instead of 2 for regular. Then all the toppings inside. It's a mess but a yummy mess. Plus their fries are super tasty 🤤 People hate their buns bc they r thin and gets soggy quick, but i like their thin buns as it's a good ratio to the 1 patty. I hate thick buns, too much bread.

I like Five Guys because the quality is always consistent and for being from a chain it’s a pretty good burger. But it is super expensive so I don’t go often. The Cajun fries are 🔥.

아무래도 요즘 우리나라 버거집들이 워낙 상향 평준화 되서..맛은 있겠지만 특별하게 앞서나가는 느낌은 아니게 되버린거죠. 저도 쉑쉑 처음 들어왓을때 한시간 줄서서 먹었었는데 원래 잘가던 수제버거집이 더 나았다고 느꼈을정도니까...

리뷰 완전 동의합니다. 저도 똑같이 느꼈어요. 무엇보다도 시스템이 너무 불편했습니다. 지금이 어느시대인데 옛날 아날로그 방식으로 매장을 운영하더군요. 미국 시스템 그대로겠죠? 한국에서는 10년전에도 이렇게 답답한 시스템으로 운영 안했을것 같네요.

궁금증 해소용으로 한 번 정도 사 먹어 볼 순 있겠으나 솔직히 그돈씨 소리 나올 수 밖에 없는 가격인 건 사실인지라 두 번은 못 사 먹을 듯

I feel like its whole thing/gimmick is that its fresh. Also getting the little hamburger is the single patty version and the hamburger is a double. The prices iirc are about 7 and 10 USD in Cali, respectively. I'd take Five Guys over Shake Shack any day. Shake Shack is just the East Coast's knock off In-n-out. XD

Regarding the price, I find that there is no reason for me to get the full burger size. I normally get the little burger. And it's like half the price at my nearby place compared to what you are payed. Also, a nice aspect of Five Guys is that you have basically unlimited basic toppings. Most people like the fries too. In general, in the U.S., they give you way too many fries so overall, it's a good value.

Five guys is okay. Not my favorite but not the worst I’ve ever had. I do like the Cajun fries when they’re cooked properly, but they’re never consistent with the fries and how they’re cooked.

The reason Five Guys got so popular in the US is that there weren't any big chains making that style of burgers. Now, Shake Shack and Cheeburger Cheeburger, etc. have also expanded, plus whatever other places in other countries, and they're riding high off of their hype in the US without really being any better than anyone else who makes the same style of burgers. (To be fair, it's definitely my favorite style of burger, so I'm happy to have a Five Guys, a Cheeburger, and a Shake Shack all pretty close by... and also an H-Mart 😂) The real unique things about Five Guys (in the US, at least; they might not run it the same elsewhere) are the peanuts, the fries, and the toppings. The peanuts are just sitting out free for customers, and that's pretty unusual in the US, plus doing that with peanuts specifically is unique in general. The fries are cut fresh (they even have a whiteboard saying what farm they're from) and fried in peanut oil, they have malt vinegar for customers to put on the fries, and, the _real_ secret, they put pretty much as many fries in the small as the large; since they serve everything in a bag, it's not like they're going to spill all over. And, while some toppings cost extra (like the bacon), they have a whole list of things like mushrooms, onions, jalapenos, lettuce, and pickles that just come with the burger if you want. But, yeah, the burgers themselves are just smash burgers: good, but not any better than any other smash burger, and the unique features, while cool and occasionally drawing me in to Five Guys instead of another smash burger place, aren't really worth the hype.
