Five Islands in the North Sea - Sailing from the Netherlands to Denmark 

In June 2024, after many months of planning to cross the North Sea from the Netherlands to Norway, we sailed from the Frisian island Vlieland. The long phase of Northerly winds had built a strong swell, and the wind had not yet turned to West as predicted, so we were not able to hold the course to the North. Falling off to the East, the night brought us to the German Frisian islands, and off Norderney, we finally were able to turn North. The second night brought us to Esbjerg in Denmark. From there, we sailed to Fanø and Rømø. When we went short in time, we turned to Helgoland, and via Spiekeroog back to Vlieland.
