Diane, I know you said this is not a cooking or a fashion channel... but all I can say is that it doesn't matter what kind of channel you have, I just love your warm and inviting presence! You could take about computer programming and I'd be delighted... It feels like you are talking to directly to me and I'm sitting across the table from you. You really have a gift of making people feel at ease and relaxed- even though you are a vision of productivity and efficiency! It shows us that being organized does not have to be stressful. About Helen Corbitt- I nearly fell over when I saw that video!! I thought, how in the world did Diane ever hear about Helen Corbitt??? She is from Texas actually, and so am I (I don't live there anymore) I collect vintage cookbooks and I had to laugh when you said her cookbook contained strange recipes- yes it certainly does!! I read her cookbook for historical purposes, I have a keen interest in the history of cooking... I have a 1957 copy of her book- I particularly love reading the menus from the 1950s. How did they stay so slim? I'd weigh 300 pounds if I ate like that... Thank you again for sharing your warmth with us- it puts a smile on our face and sets a good tone for the day!! Elizabeth

Thanks for the lovely comment, Elizabeth! Yes, some of the recipes were very strange but that cake she came up with is a real winner. So funny that it was posted on a notelet that I had in Britain in the 1970s?! Have a lovely weekend!

Diane, I just saw on a flylady video that one of your children came to the USA on exchange. We have hosted 11 students over the years and think it’s a wonderful way to get to know about the world! If you talked about this on a video, it might inspire families to consider hosting to give more students the chance to study abroad! It’s always difficult to find families for all of the students who want to come. ☺️

Thank you Diane. I was going to sit and just watch but I got up folded dry laundry from yesterday, then realised here was only three things that needed ironing so did that and put the whole load away in just 10 minutes.

So glad you put cinnamon in the cake, It will taste delicious! I wondered why it wasn't part of the recipe. :) In the US the cinnamon and apple is like bread and butter.

And nutmeg, too! A great trip, apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sometimes cloves, depending on ingredients. But I really enjoy the spice flavors with fruit dishes!

If you haven't all ready seen/tried them, have a look for the little pots with nail varnish remover and foam 'fingerss' in. You just put your nail in, pull it out and by some magic, nail varnish dissappear in a nano second. I get mine from home bargains. It's almost instant. Love the waistcoat!

Folded some laundry while you did your nails. Thanks for the pep talk :) I had surgery on August 10th and was so excited to start routines when I was feeling better. Developed an incision infection last week that knocked me down all over again. My house is a mess, but I’m taking care of myself and so looking forward to getting back to it. I came up with what I think will be my morning and evening routines and will do the weekly Home blessing as well. So thankful for your videos and your encouragement. You have made the FlyLady system real and manageable for me to start when my body is ready! ❤️

I'm doing great with routines now thanks to your example and encouragement. So great that my day feels weird if I don't do them. It has helped me get my kids on a better routine/schedule too (we homeschool). We were gone this weekend and then came home a busy schedule and by the second day of crazy and little to no routine my 12yo whined and said, "I hate being off routine! This feels awful!" LOL! Which was true. We all felt off...but twas life for a few days.

So funny and completely understandable...tasting the cake! And the silver lining is, an even more beautiful cake. I had thought about adding cinnamon yesterday and made a mental note to add some in, plus maybe a bit of nutmeg just because I love it so much. Happy Clothes Swap Party/Errand Day😊 Oh, would so love to be invited to that party. Errands today include returning a top of DH 17's to a store and picking up apples🍎🍎🍏for a 🍰cake😊DH and I have been trying to cut carbs but we need to LIVE/LOVE some joy in every day, no worries!

You should wash your hands between nail polish remover and new coat of varnish, it helps to last the varnish and it helps to have less dry hands

New Washing Machines have a timer delay. You can delay it so that by the time you are home from work your clothes are washed and it’s ready for the dryer

Yes! I love the delayed timers on my appliances and use them often...on the coffee machine, the dishwasher, the washing machine. Woo hoo for technology!

It's been too hot over the summer but my daughter is now, in September, eating cooked quick porridge. When the weather really turns cold we will be back to the bone-sticking-oatmeal! LOL!
