Congratulations on completing your re-build. It's been fascinating to follow. I'm not a mechanic, but interested in understanding how things work - it's so impressive to see what you managed to achieve on your driveway! Thank you for filming and sharing it.
Been following you for some time. Admire your expertise and the attendant humour! I don’t have a Toyota now🤨 but a Mazda CX5 - an excellent S.U.V.😁 Thank you for the fun and mechanical education. Phil, Suffolk, U.K 🇬🇧
What an episode that was! Fun to watch. Lots of labour, planning & hardwork. You both deserve to enjoy the fruit of your labour. Once you sit on the driver's seat you seem to forget the rigors you've been through in the restoration. Congrats to a job well done! Have a safe and enjoyable driving. Cheers!
And now what will be our Sunday shows 😢... Thanks for the lovely season in this full car maintenance, it was pleasant and funny to watch. This is by far my favorite RU-vid channel.
Congratulations that your LR3/Disco 3 is back on the road. You'll be glad to know that I flew my German flag here in the States the week of 2 October--I was for three years in Berlin with DaimlerChrysler. Tschüss und v.D.!
If I had that big professional car jack... I own the exact same car and I am happy to share with you that it has passed 610000 km. Im looking forward to do some work on it, that car has been a family member since 2007 and as the first owner there is no such joy driving any other car. Thank you for all the videos and I can't wait for next sunday❤️
Woohoo 🙌 it’s Sunday morning and time for a LR time video with a brew before I go to work 😊 Love how Christian has checked everything and found the odd thing he’s forgotten 👍🏻 Robin did a great job fixing that small pipe 🤩 Seeing Vera happy is absolutely fantastic Christian 😊 Wife happy husband happy life 🤣 LR is looking great. Good luck on your first run out guys 👍🏻 Hug and kiss for Vera 😘 xx
Wow - what a saga! Glad everything is now sorted. I watched this a day late as I was at The Great British Land Rover Show yesterday - I hope to be able to send you a car sticker from the Discovery Owners Club shortly to add to your collection.
I Love your videos, vera helps you, she doesn't complain about her nails or hair, and she wants to help and want the car to be the best land rover ... but when she organize thew tools ah this is the best one, keep driving and making videos together
There is a brake bedding in procedure that I have used successfully for many years: Drive VERY gently for 100 to 500 km (i.e. plan your slowing down for traffic lights, kind of the way we should be doing all the time, anyway). I also, during the first fifty km, I shove it in Park (Now that I [have to] drive autos.) at stops, in order to be able to take my foot off the brake to prevent heat sink and blue spots on my discs. In a man trans, I just used to foot off and allow the car to roll a few centimetres (in whichever direction it wanted to roll). Don't be afraid to irritate the rush-rush types who live and drive among us. Und, , Vera und Christian, stop giving a damn about what negative people utter in the comments. Believe in yourselves, and just kep on doing what you do so very well.
Only thing I can say well done I know exactly what it's like to see all your hard work pay off, now what's needed is two LT of coffee and a very large packet of ginger nut biscuits, take care of your self's and have a safe trip Barry ❤
An amazing, difficult project. Thanks for sharing this on your channel. I don’t come close to having this type of engineering ability but you two make it fun.
ITS LR TIME😊😊 I've been looking forward to this episode " the first run out" fantastic job christian and vera.always such dedication to detail.this disco will last forever.sad to see the disco 4 going, but shows what great work has been done.till next week folks enjoy your week😊😊😊😊
I am glad for you 2 your done but for us out here in the wasteland what the hell do we do now on sunday morning . Enjoy your toy all the best and thank you so much for letting us come along . Happy Trails.
Congratulations on the completion of this project! Your attention to detail has been outstanding, and the end result is almost certainly one of the best Disco 3s around. Oh boy, how useful was that two-post lift...yes? I wish you many safe and reliable trips!
Excellent work both of you , very professional rebuild if you get bored on a winters evening there is a detective show in the UK on Channel ITV called Vera and more to the point she drives a landrover Defender !
I’m in the US and I normally watch your videos very early on Sunday mornings while still in bed. When I comment, I guess that makes me a “bed top mechanic”. Very nicely done with your rebuild!
You are so inspiring, as individuals, as a couple and as car lovers. All the best for you! And I bet that Discovery 3 is among the best ones in the world right now!
Your restoration journey has amazed me as to how complex the engineering of these cars is. It is little wonder they cost so much when new, and conversely, cost so little when used and not adequately maintained! Thank you both for an intriguing series, and look forward to more adventures with you as soon as you are up for it. Take care and froehe weinachten euch allen.
Finally. The Discovery 3 is back. Well done guys. Very inspirational and insightful. Sad, to see the Discovery 4 go though. You are an amazing couple. 👏 🙏
You two must be buzzing with a huge sense of satisfaction after that marathon job. Not only for the full restoration of the LR3, but the repair and valet of the LR4. I envy the Disco Gruffalo on his recent aquisition and hope it gives him the same joy as my LR4 gives me (joy punctuated with a few anxious moments that is). I hope Christian will detail the four stage "detailing process" prior to the sale of the LR4 in a future video. It has been an amazing experience following this restoration with you both and I hope your trip to the Alps gives you the rest you both have earned by working on the LR3 for many hours. I think you should name the car as referring to it as "the LR3" doesn't convey how personally you both have gotten to know every inch of it. Congratulations on an epic achievement.
Well, I feel exhausted ... have watched from your first videos over 3 years, and all through this latest marathon rebuild. And now I look forward to your Alpine shakedown ... always enjoyed the trips as much as the mechanical work. Thankyou for bringing us along with you Vera & Christian, it has been a masterclass in mechanics and relationships. A lot of coffee and croissant each Sunday over the last 3 years .. here's to many more, an absolute pleasure
There is something cool about the sound of the TDV6 engine. Its got soul. Now looking forward to the series of videos cataloguing the road side repairs on your trip. 🤣👍
That was definitely a labour of love, hard work, dedication, and thorough planning ! Hopefully, your impending trip, went without too many slight hitches. LR time is a fantastic resource Thank you.. Can't wait to see the TUV guy/girl's face.
Congratulations guys! You have done an amazing job on Vera's Disco 3, from top to bottom and front to back! It should last another 17 years now or even longer. The Disco4 looks stunning, anyone who buys that will get the bargain of the century. I hope you enjoyed your shakedown trip to the Alps and didn't have any dramas. I suppose we will find out next Sunday! So what's next Christian and Vera??
Well done guys, it's been a long and hard project!! Now you can go enjoy it!! I was so gutted for you when it didn't start, that must have been a big low point 😩
Yes, "mushy" is a word, and brakes can be mushy. 😄 Amazing journey! Thank you for sharing that rebuild. Not only is that an enormous task unto itself, but filming and publishing videos on top makes your work remarkable. Now I'm excited to find out how your trip to the Alps went, since that was about a month ago. 🤔😀
Had not realized that you started this "Marathon" on 6th of May! It took you so many weeks, so many man hours, so much money, so many editing hours, till you reached this AMAZING result. I envy you guys, by the good meaning. You must be VERY proud of your ackompishment. I honestly do not believe that there are more than a handful of people in the World that have done that kind of extensive repair / mainrenance in their vehicle. Gongratulations once more. PS 1. I am sure that you will not regret for not buying that new vehicle you were looking for. PS 2. What's next now?
What an fantastic job. Thank you so much for documenting the process and sharing the journey with us, it’s been a joy to watch and I’ve learned a lot (most of which I’m sure I’ll never use). Cheers and happy motoring! 😀
Christian. In an amazing coincidence I’ve been looking at that restricted airflow on compressor. I just checked in today to see how you are getting on and here we are, both under our vehicles 😂
I enjoy watching your videos You make Mechanics so entertaining I look forward to watching your videos on Sunday Best land rover Discovery Channel on RU-vid
I am so glad it’s complete and sorry it’s over,, really looked forward to your weekly updates, hopefully next you have Fabian’s Disco to over haul again 😂 great job and most of all great to see how united you work together, great couple.
Oh, I will not overhaul Fabians Discovery. 😅👍 We have enough work of our own. But there will be a most spectacular video about his Discovery 3 be up on our Channel in about 2 weeks. That weekend definitely gave me a burnout on his Disco. 😅🙋♀️
Fabulous work and an excellent outcome 👏 We owned two D4’s, but always with full Land Rover warranty and we made claims on both policies (surprise, surprise). Absolutely loved them to bits though - wonderful transport for us and our four children - and having driven the second one to Sweden and back from the UK, I am pretty sure that I know how just fast the buyer of your blue D4 would have been able to go on the unrestricted autobahn. Unlike the autobahn, the D4 has an electronic speed limit, however it is supremely stable at that speed 😊
