For the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a piece of music for church bells was composed, and this is the plain course of it. Five Rings Triples (and doubles) is not strictly a method, as the treble has two lots of five blows in one place during its course. The blue line is here: cccbr.org.uk/ol... and it is not as difficult as it looks. I shall be ringing the Performance (three bobs) at Wirksworth, Belper, Duffield, Ilkeston and Chesterfield on the opening day of the Olympic Games (27th July 2012), and (hopefully) uploading my own version of All The Bells... which I have been roped in for at Riddings...
Belper bells are not great. They all go pretty well, but they are all very odd struck which makes them rather difficult to strike well. Thanks to good sound control, the neighbours cannot hear the mistakes and poor striking produced by the learners (of which there is a good number) and occasionally by the experienced ringers. They do sound nice though. Enjoy!
