What you said about the book community and the nastiness towards special editions nowadays is so true. I also think there's a time and a place. Talking with fellow reader friends in a discord about your disappointment in a SE is a lot different than putting a comment on a post where the artists/creators etc. can see it

If I struggle to pick what to read (which is often lol) I sometimes use Illumicrate TBR cards which have little prompts on them. Or I make list of my TBR and then use a random number generator to pick :)

I’m about to start the J. Bree book as well! Not sure if you’re aware but there are 2 prequel novellas. Not sure how helpful they’ll be to the actually story as I’ve not read it yet but they are fun & quick reads!

I picked up trial of the sun queen after reading a couple of chapters on ku. I think it's going to be a good one. Also happily never after after seeing good reviews and jbree after reading her two novellas prequels to this one. Looking forward to my summer reading. I agree re constructive criticism as it's very often person opinions. I dislike the confidence someone has behind a keyboard because the person is anonymous per say. Its mean for being mean no thought behind it. And in todays world live and let live if its not hurting anybody leave it alone. X
