Love the features, hate the price. I just saw a 2020 used 2 door jeep wrangler for sale for $15k that basically does everything this new Polaris does plus it is street legal and has a billion aftermarket parts for it available. I personally think Polaris should have just jumped in with both feet into the jeep market and made a street legal tiny truck.
@@HorchataFan a base model jeep wrangler costa less than this new Polaris expedition. If jeep can put airbags on an off road vehicle then so can Polaris.
The people in Roseau are laughing to the bank, trust me I know a couple of them who knows the margins…people who buy these would be sick to know how much it actually costs to build one of these
Not shitting on this machine at all but I could only see a very very small market for this. It’s priced out of reach of most, and then people like me who use a side by side for light duty work and the tractor for serious hauling. Great job on it though, it definitely looks like a well put together machine!
These are everywhere in Australia but unfortunately not road legal we brought a 2023 North Star premium I think it was. That was 40k AUD then we had to add gun racks UHF light bars bull bar slider and roof rack it come close to 54K AUD once completed it better last a long time
I bet it’ll be just like my 2020 ranger and start giving problems around 300hours. Japanese machines will be the only sxs purchase for me in the future
Your video may help my COMPANY to purchase a couple due to hygiene coming down on our shop due to dangerous dusty areas. We will see I will let you know if it came down to your video and how complete it was!! Appreciate how good your review was!!
Ridiculous pricing. My 23 northstar was $35k and i almost fell over. They are simply not worth todays prices, it will only stop if we quit buying them.....also my 1000 drinks fuel like a drunken sailor, i can only imagine a 1500
I just secured a job making really good money, but still even if I was a millionaire would not spend $40k+ on this machine. My truck was 30 and is badass. There's no way
I want one, however the new CVT is my concern, not the CVT itself so much but the dual clutch plates, that is what gets you going, they will take the brunt of the abuse in situations where the tires do not want to turn or when people put too large of tires on it. These clutches will slip and burn, and polaris says this cvt has no repair parts, buy a new one.
I mean it’s a great work rig but Polaris needs to make long box option like my defender 6x6. I really wish I could get that engine and transmission in mine, however! The 1000 v twin is absolutely gutless and its CVT is jerky and difficult to use in technical terrain.
Interesting comment as I’m eyeing the defender pro (4wheel/hd10/long bed) for use on the farm. Is the engine & trans really that bad? How has reliability been for you?
@@freidrichnietzsche6643 it’s perfect for ranch work. No problems with engine or transmission either. Currently just hit 4,000 miles while on “the maze” in sand hollow (an 8/10 rated trail that was surprisingly not too bad with the 6x6). I’ve had up to 1500 lbs in the back of it and have towed in excess of 3,000 lbs and it handles both of these situations very well. I had to replace the belt around 3,000 miles because I accidentally left the parking brake on when winching out of a spot I was stuck on in sand hollow. Other than that, I’ve replaced the tie rods and ball joints in the front twice, both front cv axles once (attempting mickeys hot tub and front wheels came off the ground while WOT and then slammed back down snapping both), and right middle rear CV once, and A arm bushings in front (need to do rears soon). But this is all primarily due to the fact I have really put this rig in some very harsh trails (see my channel for vids of what I’ve done with it). My critique of the engine being gutless is primarily due to the fact that I am oftentimes riding at 8,000-12,000 feet and above.
@@downbytheriver501 10-4 and I appreciate the detailed response! I never mind when a machine has more power 😎 Thanks, I'll check out your vids. Are you running stock wheels/tires? (I guess the videos will also tell me;) I just found a demo Defender Pro for list of $16.9k / 36 miles... might be time to jump on that deal! Cheers.
The shifter is closest to the driver while it's in Park, when you put it in Drive the shifter is up and out of your way. Why would you want it the other way around?
Hi ,I think you make the best videos about UTVs. I am from Europe from Poland and I want to buy a Polaris xd1500 2 doors for hunting. Can you tell me whether the xd1500 will be the best choice for me - sometimes I have to travel 20 km to the forest on an asphalt road. Wojtek
Everything these days is way over priced! EVERYTHING!! This included! But this thing definitely has its place, may not be in my garage because I can’t justify 40Gs for a toy but if I was gonna spend it on a toy, it would be this over a razor or something else and snorkel it and dump it in the mud and destroy it in the first trip….. which is what everyone where I live does. They buy $20-$30,000 buggies, spend another $10-$20,000 on em just to sink em over the snorkels and break axels etc…. So it’s not too far off cause I definitely want a northstar myself, I’m just wishing that the Polaris Ranger 570 Northstar had A/C and not just heat. I’m in the south, it’s hot here I need ac ha good review I appreciate it!
If people were as smart as the manufacturer and didn’t buy everything at these completely outrageous prices the out the door price wouldn’t be nearly as much. But you got people that have to have the so called best of the best or one up everyone else. So that’s how they’re able to markup their prices so outrageously.
hmmm, rearly important to know the positives...i think the closed cabin with AC -heating is best innovation...my dream is a mav erick r withe AC...ALL problems then are solved for rallydriving in all conditions....how long do i have to wait ?
I will just buy a 2003 regular cab Tacoma 4c4 instead. Go the same places, haul more stuff and be more comfortable doing it too. Way better ranch rig and hunting rig plus highway legal.
Sell your F150 and buy our UTV that’s not street legal in most states costs as much and has no mirrors, turn signals, or horn stock. Spend $40+ grand on something you should just use a truck for.
That group of people building rigs like that is considerably smaller than the group that’s going to go out and buy a turn key decked out machine with a warranty like this. I agree you could build one badass rig over time, but when you can go and finance one of these, I would guess is probably why they’re gonna sell. Especially people who can use it as a tax write off.
It is so good and expensive that for the money it's missing door mirrors, really for that money and not even have door mirrors wow And on top,WHY do I need a helmet to drive it,never seen a farmer driving his tractor with a helmet
I’m sorry but 40 grand for a buggy is just not in this ol blue collar boys budget! Prolly never will be to be honest. But on the other side of that same coin, you won’t see me buying a 100K pick up truck!! All these manufacturers are overpricing everything! Heck even groceries are overpriced these days. I’d like to be able to buy ribeye steaks for the whole family at least once a month; used to do it almost weekly. I ain’t had a fresh ribeye steak in nearly a year. Maybe I shoulda just took the blue pill and stayed in the matrix!!
Interesting video, as I just ceramic coated this same UTV today. You are way to picky on your description, but I do understand your need to get likes and all that jazz. No matter what any producer makes and markets, there will be people like you criticizing every detail to make it seem like you know better and get hits to make your self moar
Your so wrong. Anyone with a $40k+ utv is just flexing their wealth. I could have 4 half tons on the deer lease with AC that works in TX heat for the price of ONE of these rangers.
They always say Dustin free on the inside would somebody please take a brand new one? Keep the damn window shut and ride it in the dust to see if it is dust free oh my God I don’t think they are dust free
Yes it's expensive, but comparing it to an XP1000 or a Can Am is just futile. It's a new rig that does everything better than either one of these. If it's not your thing don't buy it, but there are plenty in line that see the difference ..........and I can't wait till mine comes in!
Polaris fan boy for sure. Says he stayed clean in Polaris's best sealing cab..did anyone else notice the dust ALL OVER inside of the cab? What a joke. Over priced machine
My 2017 John Deere Gator 835R has a cabin air filter too lol. That’s nothing special. I do like some of their ideas but at the end of the day it’s still a Polaris.
The price automatically makes me never consider it. I'll buy a Ford Ranger or Tacoma for the same fucking price. It's beyond stupid, you'll only ever see these in videos just like this, no real consumer will buy one.
If I put 40000$ into myTacoma I'll bet this guy that I'll b more comfortable and go anywhere he can go. Why the hell would anybody spend that kind of money. Maybe just for the look at me part
This guy is paid by Polaris most likely. He never mentioned endurance, for instance fuel consumption on level ground steep hills and rock crawling. He should have mentioned how much fuel he used over the period of his review....
2:23 - Wait, "Outgoing Model".... so the current Ranger is going away, to be replaced by the XD? This is the first I've heard of that. The XD is built for a different market than the current Ranger, and priced way higher than what most average UTV buyers are willing to spend for a Ranger for, or use it for too.
