What you said is absolutely incredible. I enjoyed every bit of it. I am Emmanuel, a football commentator from Nigeria, who has made several commentaries on highlights and more. I would love to have some commentary time with you. To be frank and sincere, while you were talking, I actually got more than a few tips on how to become a football commentator. Thanks a lot; you did absolutely great. Lastly, I would love you to be my mentor. If you don't mind, I would like to send you highlights of matches on which I have made commentaries so you could probably rate my performance as a Nigerian football commentator.
Found this video very helpful Patrick. I’ve just started commentating on some local state leagues in Queensland and I’m very much learning on the job! Keep up the great work!
I am a student of Journalism in a Higher Institution of Learning in Cameroon and my dream is to becoming A Great Football Commentator... Thus thanks for being there...... Peter Dury is my mentor l am honoured knowing him....
I love commentary but I'm from Nigeria, i desire to be the best commentator in the world and I'd love to be based on English football. I practice as well as i can but the country I'm in doesn't seem to adopt talents like that but i hope to be found by world English commentary one day and be a main commentary star. I love Peter Drury and he's my best commentator and I look at him to be the best in the world because he's so good at what he does and i want to be better than him someday.
So many. Clive Tydlesley is the main one. I remember some Brian Moore from my childhood too. Peter Drury has been a real pioneer in showing that you can do things slightly differently and still thrive
This video is good, it practically gives me graphical explanations on how to go about this very interesting business. If you don't mind my asking, is it necessary to have a masters degree or Bachelors degree to be good at it, or it's a big percentage based on talent.
Hi Ronald, my degrees are in modern languages and conference interpreting so nothing to do with broadcasting. I would say it’s talent, technique, work ethic and understanding how the industry works
I'm glad to see this wonderful replies, I love commentary and I'm really fascinated by it, I aspire to be the best commentator in the world and I've been practicing, I practice with a football game that shows the names of the players so I could just say their names and analyze the game. I love Peter Drury and he's my best commentator and I look at him to be the best in the world and because of my thoughts about him I want to be better than him.
Please Kendrick Patrick, can i send you an email as well if you don't mind? I love commentary and I'm very enthusiastic about getting into the industry, i also have good commentary talent and I'm just looking for a guideline to being a wonderful commentator and i need people like you in my life and by the way! Lest i forget, you kind of sound like my best commentator in English football (Peter Drury)if you don't mind I'll love to be connected to you, it would help me.
