I'm curvy and short (5"3'), and I always thought maxis were out for me, but seeing you in maxis totally inspired me. So I bought a few, got them hemmed, and I'm loving them this summer! I like the way you've put these outfits together.

I have a white maxi dress that I got last year at Goodwill for about $5 and have not worn it. I scored a denim vest for under $30 at Deb Shops. Thanks for the tip. Marlena, you are truly an inspiration. My husband and I are taking our health back. You were part of that. I am not trying to lose 125 lbs but I am going to start make healthier choices. I love how you embrace your curves and that you don't try to hide them. So many girls nowadays are insecure and try to hide their curves by baggy clothes, but they really shouldn't! Your confidence in yourself really inspires me.

Nice ideas! I'm shaped like you but I'm a plus size girl. All the dresses this year are strapless or have tiny straps, I was looking for other ways to wear them and make them more appropriate. Some great ideas here!!

Flats, sandals, gladiator sandals and even flip flops look super cute with the maxi dress! I've done all kinds of shoes and I really like the flatter sandals. Altho wedges are a good option, especially for me I can't wear a lot of heels or stilettos! :) Hope that helped!

I'm a size 24-26 and I wear maxi dresses! Target has come out with some cute ones! I'm also short, so maxi skirts are usually too long for me, pull those suckers up to my armpits. But, the dresses usually have adjustable thin straps. Just pair a maxi just the way Marlena did! Torrid is another great site for maxis. Plus, you might be able to do what she did and go for a smaller size (XL or L) if they flare out! You don't need to fit in, you just need to be happy with you ;)

Split slips. Or pettipant. It's a silky slip that is comprised of legs instead of a skirt. They usually come in white, black, beige. And sometimes you can find them where they come in a longer length, but you can snip them to the length you want because they have these lace lines where you can cut them so they don't fray. They're very comfortable, and only add a thin layer, you can wear them instead of panties, if you wish. :D
I LOVE these fashion vids you do. I'm a curvy pear shape as well and I am so self conscious about wearing dresses or skirts of any type because of my shape. Im pretty sure we are not only shaped the same, but about the same size too... And you make these dresses look freakin awesome!! Makes me think "hey, maybe I look like that in them too". Using Aquaphor works great at preventing chafing. Runners also have Body Glide and other lubricants. But I love Aquaphor. And if you get blisters it helps prevent them.
Hey Marlena, Great video. Dresses are by far the most comfy thing to wear. Obviously you've had to replace a lot of your wardrobe by now, but do you have thoughts on how to go about adjusting your closet during/after a weight loss journey? Thanks for all your videos. :)
That's all I've been wearing since I got back from Vegas (a month ago) there like pajamas so comfy. I got one Maxi dress (the dress barn) and two maxi skirts (The Dress Barn & Torrid) the one it white and blue striped, it's a totally inspiration to do nautical pin up makeup.. I want more and more maxis lol
