Thanks much for the compliment. I was pretty happy when a couple of the newer Dreadbox employees told me at Superbooth they watched my Nyx videos to better understand the synth as well. Cheers to that virtual beer and another 5 years!
I was thinking RU-vid hadn't offered me any of your videos for a while and this explains it. Hope you're settled into your new home and managing in these strange times we are living through.
Thanks much. Despite the surreal feeling of what we're going through, we're happy to be back in Europe. Most of my music gear is still in boxes, but I'll have a bit more time stuck in the house now to get it all sorted out. Hope all is good where you are, as much as can be expected with this life-altering world event.
Just wanted to say: Thank you. I don't own any of the synths you've made videos on, but you still give me a lot of insight into sound design and general synthesizer shenanigans. I hope the move goes smoothly and will be looking forward to more ProckGnosis in the new year. Many cheers from the Norwegian midlands. 🎉
Værsågod! Moves do suck, but a change of the scenery is always nice, so thanks. I'm not sure what part of Norway is the "midlands", but I've been to Trondheim, Bergen, and Oslo, and though they were work trips, I thoroughly enjoyed the visits. Hope to get back up that way again in the next year or two.
@@larsgustav.gudbrandsen Ah, Trondheim...a good college town! I met a student there in an Irish bar who was studying designing oil wells. He was older, and had previously been working in fishing, but he developed health problems, so the Norwegian government sent him back to school in his late 30s. He was nervous about going back to the university that old, but happy to have a chance at a different career.
No whining from me, fellah! I love what you do and always enjoy getting the notifications of a new ProckGnosis video. Keep up the work and thanks for what you do. I didn't realise that it was not monetised...that's a big deal and respect for the integrity.
Thanks much. Very glad it's a positive for you. Yeah, meant to add that one of my videos is monetized, but not by me. I have some concert footage in it, and AMAZINGLY the 2 songs I did clips of singing karaoke got hit for copyright as well. Interestingly one of the songs isn't even correctly attributed, so it's possible companies are making money on songs that aren't really even theirs. RU-vid doesn't do a great job of ensuring the claims are legitimate. Guess they expect the channel owner will.
Problem is most melanoma is black or dark blue and really irregularly shaped. This was kind of pink and round. When I noticed it months earlier, I thought it was a bug bite. Even the dermatologist wasn't overly concerned when they snipped it off for the biopsy...
Thanks! Much appreciated. I do think the Nyx routing examples turned out pretty good, mostly because I did take a bit more time to put it all together. I HAD to dig into it a bit more to understand it myself.
Props for keeping up the good work! Here's hoping for 5 more years of good vibes and good synths :) edit: loopop has gotta be making youtube videos as a full time job.
Thanks Luke. The beer was weird (in a "not bad" kind of way). Very bearable if you can handle beers with a touch of coffee or chocolate flavor (which I do like usually), but having the WHOLE tiramisu flavor was maybe a bit much. But hey, I drank the whole thing, so it couldn't have been bad, eh?
Thanks Jon. Hopefully all is well with you. I hate packing up and moving, but I like new environments. That and opening up all the boxes of your stuff when you get there makes you appreciate it more.
Thanks Fin...looking forward to getting there and getting the new music room set up...AND browsing through the Thomann website! Might need to actually visit the main store as well, which I've never done.
Hope the move went okay in the middle of the mayhem in the world and you're settling in with some good beer. I look forward to your next video whenever that may be. Hope you and yours are well and you are enjoying your gear
Yeah, we're hanging in there. Germany is doing a pretty good job managing the fun of COVID so it's much lower stress than it could be. Actually had a beer in a cafe last week even. Might be starting a video here pretty soon. The Dreadbox folks have asked me to look at their new monosynth. Given your last name, I'm guessing you might be in the UK, but hopefully all is bearable wherever you are. Cheers!
@@ProckGnosis Glad to hear things are going okay and a new toy to play with from Dreadbox, outstanding. Yes I'm in the UK and doing my best to avoid the dreaded bug, I'm fortunate in that I can work from home so I still have a job and can pay the bills. I won't comment on the politics of the UK as I don't want a lifetime ban from RU-vid for my language :D Enjoy the new machine,
So I was thinking where’s that chilled bloke gone .. hope life is treating you well in Germany.. if you are looking at treating yourself in the future to a bit of hardware honestly you won’t go wrong with the behringer Pro1 I have moogs and all manner of things but the Pro1 is shockingly good for little ££
Enjoying Germany as much as we can given the corona fun. Very fortunate I can telework. Hope all is well over there across the channel (assuming you're in the UK based on your use of "£"). Definitely been tempted by a lot of the lower cost stuff in the last couple years, but I'm physically getting low on space. And packing up for the move was a BIG reminder I need to downsize quite a bit. Soooo...the focus now is creating some space and a more usable home studio. I'll need some luck for that.
The manual thing is definitely true. Not that I have any examples from this channel, but it annoys the hell outta me to watch videos of people trying to demonstrate something and they end up showing or even outright saying that they have no idea what some things do. If they're gonna fairly review/demo something, they should know what they are doing with it. Same goes for game streamers who complain about not knowing how to play a game because they didn't bother to learn anything about it.
Some folks like seeing someone fumbling through a keyboard or synth, just to show how easy it is or isn't to fumble through. I don't mind a bit of fumbling if it's coupled with some explaining and teaching. And in some videos there is definitely a fine line between fumbling and exploring... : )
