This tutorial will help you connect to 5 GHz WiFi if you're having trouble finding it in WiFi settings in your Xiaomi device that supports dual band WiFi.

Hi, @@mehtabazad6228 Yes. Unless your device supports dual band WiFi you can't use it. However, I'm using POCO F1. Despite having support for dual band wifi it doesn't show the 5ghz WiFi network in settings. I tried to give solution to this bug. I hope you get my point.

Go to your router settings, change your 5ghz wifi channel, select channels from 139-168. Xiaomi devices doesn't support 5ghz wifi channels under 100 so, changing the channel above 100 fixes the problem.

The problem I had was I changed my phone region from the region where it was intended for to the region I was currently residing. It worked when I changed it back to original region. Thanks!

This method does not work with custom ROMs like LineageOS for Xiaomi phones since they do not have a "Region" option in the settings like in MIUI

My phone is J7(2016) and I found that it supports 5ghz wifi and I've done what you have said but still it doesn't appear. Is there another way you know?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure if Galaxy J7 supports dual band WiFi. Additionally, this fix is only meant for Xiaomi devices that run on MIUI 9 or MIUI 10. I think you should search for Samsung specific fixes.

I'm brasilian and face unlock didn't work for us... I don't know if they change it by now so at first I changed my region to India to have face unlock, but had a lot of weird publicity... then I saw a tip saying to change it to Honk Kong to stop Indian publicity and it worked my Poco F1 works at 5 GHz, but sometimes it sticks with 2.4 GHz and I don't know why my router is a Tp-Link Archer C50... great one

You can try setting the region to United States. It stops all the promotions and locks the wifi at 5ghz. I found it to be mostly stable. If it changes back to 2.4 the simply change your region to any other country and change it back again to United States. I hope it'll work.

Sorry this fix is only for Xiaomi devices. You should try searching for dual band wifi fix tutorials that are specific to your phone.

I installed root miui global without root on Redmi Note 4 (a few years ago, change from indonesian rom to global). Just go to the system update and download the ROM manually, then install via system updater, i never expected this method before. I just try but it work, but I dont know that method still works or not.

Your device has to support dual band Wi-Fi otherwise you won't be able to use it or see it in settings.

What to do if your device doesn't support dual band WiFi ? Btw I'm using redmi 7 . I tried others phone can connect 5ghz . It's okay to use 2.4ghz for browsing internet and watching RU-vid . But if I wanna do Facebook stream it will always be "slow connection" eventho the quality is 144p . Can you help me ?

Redmi 7 doesn't support dual band WiFi. So you won't be able to use it. As for slow connection, I think it's an issue of your broadband. Generally, 2.4ghz can reach up to 300 Mbps in most routers. I'd suggest you to talk to your ISP about your issue of slow connection on Facebook.

In some phones 5g is not compatible.You cant force change it even if you try everything.If you want 5g get a new phone that has it
