This will eventualy come off. First thing you wanna do is to lubricate everything with silicone grese. And to lock the "bushing" in place you'll need a small zip tie... pui it the little groove where the old clip sits and done! Did this 5 years ago on my Fiesta (you can find a video on youtube from galerio995, thant's me) and never had a problem from since!
Have the exact same issue on an 06 WP WQ Mk5 Fiesta. Got stuck on the main highway on ramp going from 2nd to 3rd. Literally just came from an inspection 20 mins before at a mechanic for rego, oil+filter change and a general inspection. Can't believe they didn't say anything to me about it.
Surprisingly, the slop was noticeable but not significant. I have a similar model and I will have to check / fix mine now because I think it feels about the same as Scott's used to be.
Hi 👋 issues with my fiesta engages all gears nice easy but 2nd gear seems to be a bit hit and miss some times will go in ok some times won't any suggestion mine a 2012 don't know if same
Hi Maui, definitely worth popping the cover off and checking the linkages and ends, but also know that 2 gear syncromesh rings have been known to wear and cause difficulty selecting 2nd gear in fiestas. Can usually be diagnosed by making a gentle hange into 2nd at fairly low speeds, if it goes in ok at low speeds but hard to select when making fast shifts at higher revs, it could be synco ring wear issue.
